A method and apparatus for controlling a casting process for obtaining a cast product from a cast substance injected into a die cavity of a pair of casting dies by a fluid-operated injecting plunger and pressurized by a fluid operated squeezing plunger after the completion of an injecting process. Actual movement of the squeezing plunger is controlled to copy a desired curve with respect to a desired movement of the squeezing plunger versus an elapse of time from the start of the actual movement of the squeezing plunger.

There are disclosed a method and an apparatus for forming disk wheel like formed parts, in a manner that the forming work is carried out by placing, in the vertical direction, the mold axis of a metal mold cavity, which corresponds to the axis of rotation of a disk wheel, thus to inject hot molten metal from the bottom in the mold axis direction, characterized in that the control mode of the injection speed comprises: a first phase to allow an injection speed when the hot molten metal has reached the inlet of the metal mold cavity to be low, a second phase to allow an injection speed from the time when the hot molten metal passes a disk wheel hub equivalent portion of the metal mold cavity until it passes the greater part of a disk wheel rim portion thereof via a disk wheel disk portion thereof to be, at the end portion of said rim equivalent portion, equal to a speed corresponding to a lower speed or less, which corresponds to a gas discharge ability of a degassing unit provided in association with the metal mold, and a third phase to close a discharge valve of the degassing unit after the hot molten metal has passed the greater part of the rim equivalent portion to continuously carry out injecting operation, thus allowing the hot molten metal to be completely filled up into the metal mold cavity. Thus, this permits gas within the metal mold cavity to be effectively discharged at any time without causing gas to be involved into hot molten metal, thus making it possible to easily provide nest-free, high quality formed parts.

Method and apparatus for forming disk wheel like formed parts

This invention relates to a die casting machine in which a plurality of mold opening and closing units each having a pair of metal molds are positioned in suitable positions in the outer periphery of a rotary table and the rotary table is intermittently rotated so as to stop the mold opening and closing units in positions in alignment with associated operation stations. In the die casting machine, a rotary detection rotary shaft is provided for following the rotation of the rotary table, while the rotary shaft is making one complete rotation, a rotational angle detector produces outputs, the values of which increase continuously corresponding to angular positions of the rotary table for detecting rotational angles of the table whereby the table is driven and controlled and the angular position of the rotary table is detected using the rotational angle of the rotary detection shaft which is rotated through a gear provided on the drive shaft of a hydraulic motor driving the rotary table whereby the mold opening and closing units are mounted on the table error in measurement caused by distortion of the table when can be minimized to thereby detect the angular position of the table with high precision and precisely and easily brake and stop the table.

Method of driving and controlling rotary table in die casting machine

A die casting machine in which a rotary table, mounted with a plurality of die open and close units each holding a die, is sequentially brought into association with a plurality of work stations. The die is clamped in two steps, that is, a regular die clamping and a temporary die clamping. The regular die clamping is carried out by applying the regular clamping force required by a particular injection step. The temporary die clamping is carried out by applying a clamping force which is smaller than the regular clamping force. Consequently, this die casting machine can greatly reduce the time required for the casting cycle for each product, thus providing remarkably improved productivity. Preferably, a metal cooling apparatus suitable for a rotary die casting machine may be further provided.

Die casting method and apparatus therefor

A method of controlling the speed of a piston in an injection molding or die casting machine utilizing a flow rate change characteristic inherent in a hydraulic pressure circuit including a cylinder and a flow rate adjusting valve. The characteristic effects the operation delay due to the compressibility and inertia of the oil and other factors, in changing the speed or the flow rate of a operation oil from a lower value to a higher value. The characteristic is formulated in time or piston stroke expressed by a function of the speed or the flow rate between the lower and higher values under an actuation pattern of the valve in which the valve opening is forced to change at a constant velocity. A flow rate adjusting signal to actuate the valve is emitted with an advanced timing calibrated in the time or the piston strokes, which timing is computed by a computer based on the characteristic function at a predetermined valve actuation pattern with predetermined lower and higher speeds and a predetermined stroke at the higher speed being given as inputs to compensate for the operation delay.
