A control device executes: either a first conveyance change control or a second conveyance change control; and a retraction control when an operation device receives an interruption operation during execution of a specified number stack control. In the first conveyance change control, a sheet conveyance device of a target unit is changed to a relay conveyance state, and the sheet conveyance device of another coupled unit that is present downstream of the target unit in a main conveyance direction is changed to a stack conveyance state. In the second conveyance change control, the sheet conveyance device of another coupled unit that is present upstream in the main conveyance direction is changed to the stack conveyance state. In the retraction control, a lift mechanism of the target unit is caused to execute a mount operation by which a stack tray is moved down to a mount position on a carriage portion.

Image forming apparatus

A sheet alignment device includes a driven roller, a drive roller, a displacement driving device, an information acquisition portion, and a displacement control portion. The drive roller is configured to rotate in a first rotation direction and in contact with an upper surface of each of sheets conveyed onto a tilt tray, to feed the sheets toward a base end portion of the tilt tray. The drive roller is configured to rotate in a second rotation direction and in contact with an uppermost surface of the sheets, to discharge the sheets from the tilt tray. The displacement control portion is configured to, when the drive roller rotates in the first rotation direction, control a holding position of the drive roller in accordance with the number of the sheets on the tilt tray and thickness information of each of the sheets acquired by the information acquisition portion.

A staple processing device includes a staple tray, a staple unit, a rear reference plate, a front reference plate, and an interlocking mechanism. The rear reference plate and the front reference plate abut the ends of the plurality of sheets and aligns the plurality of sheets. When a sheet sheaf is ejected, the sheet alignment mechanism comes in contact with a plurality of points on a topmost surface of the sheet sheaves stacked on the exit tray to detect a height difference between the plurality of points.

A post-processing device includes a device main body, a processing tray, a placed sheet processing part, a stack tray, a detecting part, a stack tray driving part and a sheet conveying part. The processing part carries out post-process to the sheet placed on the processing tray. The stack tray stacks the sheet ejected from a sheet ejection port. The detecting part detects whether or not the stack tray or the sheet on the stack tray is positioned at a detected position below the sheet ejection port. When the sheet is ejected without the post-process, in a detectable case, the conveying part ejects the sheet without placing on the processing tray and, in an undetectable case, the conveying part places the sheet on the processing tray without ejecting to the stack tray until it becomes detectable, and then, ejects the sheet on the processing tray after it becomes detectable.

A paper processing apparatus includes a tray, a conveying section, a catching member, a paper processing section, a moving mechanism, and a control section. The catching member includes an abutting surface which abuts a top part of paper in a conveying direction of the paper and a covering part which covers one of one surface and the other surface of the paper, and is disposed at a downstream side in the paper conveying direction. The control section controls the moving mechanism to move a paper processing section between a standby position at which the catching member is received in a processing region and a processing position at which the paper is received in the processing region. The control unit controls the conveying section to convey the paper to the tray in a state in which the moving mechanism positions the paper processing unit at the standby position.

A sheet post-processing apparatus implements a tilted edge-binding process by a movable table rectilinearly driving portion that moves a stapling unit rectilinearly via a movable table, and rotating the stapling unit to drive a staple near a sheet corner when the staple is tilted at a predetermined angle with respect to a sheet-conveying direction.
