The apparatus of the invention is an injection molding apparatus of a type adapted to cool a molten metal under shearing by an extrusion screw in a substantially vertical chamber into a semi-solidified slurry and then inject the semi-solidified slurry discharged from a discharge port at the lower end of a channel into molding plates, in which a clamping device is adapted to open or close a movable plate relative to a stationary plate in the horizontal direction, and a connection member having, at the inside, a vertical first channel and a second channel extending in the horizontal direction from the lower end of the first channel and in communication with the stationary plate is connected to the discharge port at the lower end of the chamber. Since this can inject and mold light metal molding products of high quality with less pore or shrinkage without excessively enlarging the size for the height of the apparatus, casting products of high quality can be obtained at a reduced cost by injection molding.

In a high temperature/high pressure vessel for treating a workpiece placed in the interior of the vessel at a high temperature and a high pressure wherein piano wire is wound under tension round an outer periphery of a cylindrical body to apply a compressive residual stress to the cylindrical body and axial openings of the cylindrical body are tightly closed with upper and lower lids so that the lids can be disengaged from the openings, the cylindrical body is constituted as a two-layer cylindrical body comprising an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder which is fitted on the inner cylinder through plural spacers arranged along an outer periphery surface of the inner cylinder, allowing cooling water flow paths to be formed each between adjacent such spacers so as to extend from one end side to an opposite end side of the tow-layer cylindrical body. In this high temperature/high pressure vessel, vessel packings can be cooled effectively, the piano wire is not wet with cooling water, and the internal space of the vessel can be utilized effectively.

A pressure processing device including a vessel having a body and an opening/closing member. A seal member is provided on a joining surface between the body and the opening/closing member, and a non-sliding joining surface is provided which is not slidably moved when the member is opened and closed. A device is provided including a diaphragm for housing an object to be processed, and a fluid introducing passage to the vessel provided so that a greater part of a fluid flowing into the vessel flows into the diaphragm. The diaphragm can be formed of heat insulating material, and a filter can be provided for removing particles installed on the side of the diaphragm into which a fluid flows. A plate having a labyrinth construction can be provided for trapping particles by parts on a surface thereof. A pressure processing device in which an object may be washed is also provided.

Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for industrially freezing (or cooling) food or the like under pressure. The method consists of isostatically exerting pressure on the material such as food (14) and the frozen body (15) composed mainly of water through the pressure medium (12) contained in the pressure vessel (1), thereby cooling the material (14). When the temperature of the material (14) decreases below 0.degree.C. at which freezing does not take place under pressure, the pressure is released rapidly so that fine ice crystals are formed in the material (14). The apparatus comprises a pressure vessel (1) having therein a high-pressure chamber (6) which can be supplied with a pressure medium (8), a treating vessel (9) in said high-pressure chamber (6), said treating vessel (9) having therein a treating compartment (13) containing a pressure medium (12) to apply isostatic pressure, and a plurality of trays (16) removably arranged in the treating compartment (13) in its axial direction, each of said trays holding the material (14) and the frozen body (15) composed mainly of water.

Method and apparatus for treating material under pressure

The present invention discloses a pressure processing method and processing apparatus for sterilization, denaturation, etc. of food materials. A free piston is fitted in a pressure container so that the free piston is slidable in an axial direction of the container, the pressure container being partitioned by the free piston into two chambers to prevent mixing and contact between a material to be processed and pressure medium. The material to be processed filled in and supplied to one chamber is pressure-processed by the sliding movement of the piston caused by supplying the pressure medium to the other chamber. Three or more pressure containers, in each of which is fitted a free piston, are provided, and a series of processing operations including pressurizing and holding, discharge and supply of the material to be processed are carried out in a batch continuous manner in the same time zone.

Pressure Processing method for food materials

A pressure processing method and processing apparatus for sterilization, denaturation, etc. of food materials include a free piston fitted in a pressure container so that the free piston is slidable in an axial direction of the container, the pressure container being partitioned by the free piston into two chambers to prevent mixing and contact between a material to be processed and a pressure medium. The material to be processed filled in and supplied to one chamber is pressure-processed by the sliding movement of the piston caused by supplying the pressure medium to the other chamber. Three or more pressure containers, in each of which is fitted a free piston, are provided, and a series of processing operations including pressurizing and holding, discharge and supply of the material to be processed are carried out in a batch continuous manner in the same time zone.

A temperature detector for use in a high temperature and high pressure furnace, including thermocouple wires received in a tubular protective sheath for protection against the furnace atmosphere, and characterized by the provision of a pair of rod members of a large diameter serving as a thermocouple pair for the positive and negative sides thereof, a protective sheath having a rod suspending holder portion in an upper portion thereof for supporting the thermocouple rod members therein in a vertically suspended state and arranged to hold the rod members out of contact with each other except at a temperature measuring point and to contact the rod members with the protective sheath only in a region other than a high temperature region of the furnace.

A method of measuring the temperature in a high pressure furnace of a hot isostatic pressing apparatus, wherein a closed-end pipe having its inside communicated with the inside of the high pressure furnace and enabling a pressure medium to pass therethrough is disposed in the furnace, an incident top end of an optical fiber, a bundle of optical fibers or like other equivalent optical rod-like memeber is disposed to the open end of the closed-end pipe so as to be capable of receiving thermally radiated light from the inside of the closed-ended pipe and an exit rear end thereof is led out through a cover and to the outside of said high pressure vessel and a measuring system is connected to said exit rear end to detect heat radiation power from the top end of the closed-end pipe to thereby measure the temperature inside of the furnace.
