When a low charge state where the charge remaining amount of a battery that supplies power to onboard equipment is at or below a predetermined amount or an abnormal state of the battery is detected, the detection is notified to a server through a communication section. The state notified to the server is recorded in a storage section. When a portable terminal inquires of the server, the state of the battery recorded in the storage section is transmitted to the portable terminal. The portable terminal displays information as to the state of the battery received from the server.

Onboard battery management system

An airbag device provided in a side of a vehicle seat, which device comprises a case for accommodating a folded airbag. The case has a lid and a wall. The lid has tear lines formed so as to rupture when the airbag deploys and separate the lid into a plurality of parts. A hinge is formed on a boundary between the lid and the wall.

Vehicle airbag device

An airbag apparatus includes a tether interconnecting a front fabric of an airbag and an inflator to retain the airbag in an occupant restraining deployed configuration. Back fabric of the airbag has an opening portion for discharging gas, ejected from the inflator into the airbag, to outside the airbag. A fabric member that has an outward peripheral portion greater in size than the opening portion of the back fabric is mounted to the inflator, and the fabric member is disposed within the airbag.

Airbag apparatus

An airbag device, provided below a pad of a vehicle seat cushion, comprises an airbag which deploys at a time of a vehicle collision, and an enveloping member which envelops the airbag in a tube shape; the airbag device is characterized in being provided at a position substantially in a center of the seat cushion in the back-and-forth direction of the vehicle, and in that the enveloping member has different peripheral lengths in an intermediate portion thereof and in end portions thereof.

Airbag device

An airbag apparatus comprising an airbag that expands between a vehicle occupant and a side wall of a vehicle body. The airbag is divided into a plurality of expanding chambers that are connected by a plurality of gas flow channels. Among the expanding chambers, the cross-sectional area of the gas flow channel leading to the expanding chamber that expands first is the largest, the cross-sectional area of the gas flow channel leading to the expanding chamber that expands last is the smallest, and the expanding chambers expand in stages.

An airbag apparatus including an expansion chamber in an arbitrary region of an airbag is disclosed. The expansion chamber has a balancing expansion chamber formed such that an operating force acts in a direction opposite a force acting on the expansion chamber when gas from a gas supplying part is supplied to the expansion chamber.

An air bag device of the present invention includes an bag member formed by a circular front-side cloth and a circular reverse-side cloth which are sewn together at their outer peripheral edge portions. The air bag device is provided with an annular lid member for closing a plurality of gas discharge portions formed in the reverse-side cloth. Therefore, in this air bag device, the bag member can be instantaneously inflated and expanded to effectively restrain the passenger and also to effectively absorb an impact energy acting on the passenger.

Air bag device

The present invention provides an air bag device in which an airbag member can be quickly and positively inflated and expanded, with its central portion instantaneously inflated. The present invention describes an air bag devicein which an intermediate cloth of a polygonal shape, having a gas inlet port leading to an inflator, is disposed between a front-side cloth and a reverse-side cloth which are sewn together at their peripheral edge portions. Part of a peripheral edge portion of the polygonal intermediate cloth is sewn to the front-side cloth, and gas outlet ports are provided respectively at those portions or this peripheral edge portion which are not sewn to the front-side cloth. With this construction, an airbag member can be quickly and positively inflated and expanded, with its central portion instantaneously inflated.

A squib that is used by being connected to a bus is formed by assembling an explosive unit and a communication/ignition unit that have been constructed as separate components. The communication/ignition unit is provided with an IC substrate for ignition and communication that is electrically connected to a bus wire. The explosive unit is provided with explosive, an ignition element, and a header that is interposed between the ignition element and the IC substrate, and that electrically connects the two. In this IC integrated type of squib that is used for communication and ignition, it is possible to prevent the explosive and the IC from mutually interfering with the performances of each other.

Squib

A connector includes two housings coupled with each other to hold a cable therebetween. One of the housings includes a cable receiving portion for receiving the cable, a restricting portion adjacent to the cable receiving portion, a first wall portion formed outside the restricting portion and defining a space between the first wall portion and the restricting portion, and a first engaging portion inwardly protruding from the first wall portion. Another of the housings includes a cable pressing portion for pressing the cable towards the cable receiving portion and the restricting portion, and a second wall portion formed adjacent to the cable pressing portion and inserted into the space. The second wall portion has a second engaging portion extending outward from the second wall portion. The first and the second engaging potions are engaged with each other to prevent the housings from separating from each other.

An automotive air bag device has a panel, a folded bag installed in a deeper portion behind the panel, a cover provided in the panel and a connecting member that connects a vehicle body side with the cover. The air bag is inflated by virtue of a gas pressure to push open the cover provided so that the air bag deploy into a passenger compartment, the cover is mounted in the panel so as to be separated from the panel when the air bag is inflated and the connecting member controls a protrusion of the air bag into a passenger compartment.

Automotive air bag device

An airbag inflator performance test system includes: a cylindrical tank; a disk-shaped piston vertically movably disposed with a gap between the piston and an inner peripheral face of the tank, the gap allowing gas to flow; a piston rod that projects upward from the piston and runs slidably through the tank so as to guide vertical movement of the piston; a lower chamber defined within the tank beneath the piston; an upper chamber defined within the tank above the piston; an inflator disposed in the lower chamber; a pressure sensor for detecting a pressure of the upper chamber; and a piston displacement sensor for detecting a displacement of the piston in order to detect a volume in the upper chamber. After ignition of the inflator, an inflator local work and an inflator total work, which are indexes of the energy of the inflator, are calculated based on the pressure and the volume of the upper chamber.

A restricting memberdisposed along an outer surface of an air bagrestricts an axial inflation of the air bagin an earlier stage of deployment of the air bag, and in a later stage of deployment, the restricting memberallows for the inflation of the air bagto its maximum capacity through breakage of brittle portions. In the deployment process of the air bag, since vent holesformed in a base fabricof the air bagare closed by the restricting member, the leakage of gas from the vent holesis prevented to thereby enable a quick deployment of the air bag. Then, when the brittle portionson the restricting memberbreak, the vent holesare opened.
