A sensor that includes a switch unit and that detects a pressure applied from the front side to the switch unit or a finger approaching the switch unit from the front side is located on the back side of upholstery. A base member has a protruding portion on its surface. The upholstery includes: a light-transmitting region that is located over a light guide portion of the base member and the switch unit of the sensor and that allows light from a light source to transmit therethrough to the front side; and a non-light-transmitting region that blocks the light from the light source. A raised portion that is raised on the front side of the upholstery is located near the light-transmitting region in the non-light-transmitting region of the upholstery. The protruding portion of the base member is placed in the raised portion from the back side of the upholstery.

Display panel

A sensor unit attachable to a hole of a housing, closed by an overlay on one side in the first direction, from the other side in the first direction. The sensor unit includes a body, a sensor, a vibration generator, a vibration damper, and a fixable part. The body includes a first portion and a second portion on the other side in the first direction relative to the first portion. The sensor provided at the body detects a contact of a detection target with the overlay. The vibration generator can vibrate the body and sensor. The fixable part is provided at the second portion of the body. With the first portion accommodated in the hole, the fixable part is fixed to the housing from the other side in the first direction via the vibration damper, and the vibration damper is at least partly interposed between the fixable part and housing.

Sensor unit and structure for attaching sensor unit

A touch sensing device including a sensor and a water shielding layer. The sensor is a capacitive, resistive, or optical touch sensor and is configured to detect a detection target approaching the sensor from one side in a first direction. The first direction is a thickness direction of the sensor. The water shielding layer is composed of waterproof elastic substance, is disposed on the one side in the first direction relative to the sensor, and covers at least part of the sensor.

Touch sensing device

A plastic laminate structure including layers laminated together, a functional element being an electrode, a display element, an antenna, or a sensor on a second layer of the layers, conductive lines on the second layer, and a dummy conductor on one of the layers. The layers include a first layer of a plastic material and the second layer fixed to the first layer. The first conductive lines are connected to the functional element. The dummy conductor surrounds the functional element and the conductive lines. Each conductive line includes a parallel portion forming at least part of each conductive line. First and second distances are each 500 &#x3bc;m or less. The first distance is a distance in the array direction between the parallel portions. The second distance is a distance between the endmost conductive line and the dummy conductor in a plane direction extending along a face of the second layer.

Plastic laminate structure

A plastic laminate structure including a plurality of, or a plurality of kinds of, plastic layers and an adhesive layer. The plastic layers are laminated together in a first direction. All the plastic layers are comprised exclusively of extruded plastic layers. The adhesive layer affixes together two of the plastic layers that are adjacent to each other in the first direction.

Plastic laminate structure and touch sensing device having the same

The invention provides a device module that can be manufactured with a die. The device module includes a plastic part, a device, a holder, and an external connection. The device is embedded in the plastic part. The holder is embedded in the plastic part and includes an exposed portion exposed from the plastic part in a thickness direction of the plastic part in such a manner as to close a housing recess of the die. The external connection is connected to the device and partially fixed to the holder. The external connection includes a lead-out portion insertable in the housing recess of the die. The lead-out portion is embedded in the plastic part and being led out of the plastic part in the thickness direction. Alternatively, the lead-out portion is led through and out of the holder in the thickness direction.

Method of manufacturing a device module

An input device including a base, a plastic part provided on the base, and a touch sensor embedded in the plastic part. Embedding the touch sensor in the plastic part contributes to the reduction of the distance from an outer face of the base to the touch sensor, thereby improving the sensitivity of the touch sensor. Embedding the touch sensor in the plastic part also makes it possible to omit a step of fixing the touch sensor to the plastic part, thereby improving the yield rate of the input device.

Touch-sensitive input device

The invention provides a device module including a base, a plastic part, and an external connection. The plastic part is provided on the base. The device is provided on the base and embedded in the plastic part. The device is a sensor, an electronic device, or a circuit board. The external connection includes an embedded portion and a lead-out portion. The embedded portion is connected to the device, extends along the base, and is embedded in the plastic part. The lead-out portion is contiguous with the embedded portion and led out of the plastic part.

Device module and method of manufacturing the same

The invention provides a device module including a device, a connecting part, and a plastic part. The device is a sensor, an electronic component, or a circuit board. The connecting part is connected to the device and includes an external connecting portion. The device and the connecting part are embedded in the plastic part. The plastic part is provided with a first opening that exposes at least the external connecting portion of the connecting part to the outside.

Device module

A shield cover is provided with urging components that urge a light guide in the direction in which the light guide is inserted into a receptacle body to prevent the light guide from making contact with a light emitting element and a light receiving element when a receptacle body mates with a shield cover. Even if the light guide does not completely mate with the receptacle body, the urging components make contact with the light guide before the light guide makes contact with the light emitting element and the light receiving element so that an urging force by the urging components make the light guide completely mate with the receptacle body.

An optical transmission hinge apparatus includes a first hinge portion for pivotally interconnecting a first casing and a second casing about a first axis, a first optical device provided in the first casing, a second optical device provided in the second casing and an optical guide path member for interconnecting the first optical device and the second optical device to enable optical transmission therebetween. The optical guide path member includes a bent portion, a first portion formed on one side of the bent portion and a second portion formed on the other side of the bent portion. The first portion is provided in the first casing to be coaxial with the first hinge portion, with a terminal end of the first portion being in opposition to the first optical device. The second portion is provided in the second casing, with a terminal end of the second portion being in opposition to the second optical device.

The object of the present invention is to suppress a decrease in the optical function of a sleeve by ensuring that a liquid chemical substance is not apt to remain on a peripheral surface of the sleeve even when the liquid chemical substance enters a connector. The present invention relates to an optical connector which is connected to an optical plug holding an optical fiber to a terminal end of which a ferrule is attached. The optical connector of the present invention has a guide pipe into which a ferrule is inserted and on an inner circumferential surface of which a supporting portion (a convexity) is formed, a light-emitting device, a light-receiving device, and a sleeve which is positioned by the supporting portion and optically connects the light-emitting device, the light-receiving device and the optical fiber. According to the present invention, there is a space between the guide pipe and the sleeve and, therefore, the phenomenon that a chemical substance adheres to a wide area and remains does not occur.
