A long structural member and a structural member complex that contain a fiber-reinforced resin having a simple reinforced structure, suppressing increase in molded article weight, and exhibiting high mechanical properties. A production method for fiber-reinforced plastic, includes: a step in which a material (A) including a prepreg base material is obtained, said prepreg base material having cuts therein and having a thermoplastic resin impregnated in reinforcing fibers arranged in parallel in one direction; a step in which a pressurizing device is used that applies a substantially uniform pressure in a direction (X) orthogonal to the travel direction of the material (A) and the material (A) is caused to travel in the one direction and is pressurized while being heated to a prescribed temperature (T), an angle (&#x3b8;) of &#x2212;20&#xb0; to 20&#xb0; being formed between the orthogonal direction (X) and a fiber axial direction (Y) for the reinforcing fibers of the prepreg base material; and a step in which the material (A) pressurized by the pressurizing device is cooled and the fiber-reinforced plastic is obtained.

Fiber-reinforced plastic and production method therefor

The present invention pertains to a carbon fiber reinforced plastic, and provides a carbon fiber reinforced plastic laminated body that is low cost and superior in moldability, mechanical characteristic balance, and impact resistance. The laminated body has three or more layers, and has the following (B) layer between two layers of a fiber reinforced resin sheet, (B) layer: A resin sheet in which the displacement, in an S-S curve waveform obtained by the following high-speed punching test, from a peak value of the test force (kN) to an 85%&#x2014;attenuation value is not less than 22 mm. High-speed punching test: Impact absorption energy is calculated by using an impact testing machine in compliance with ISO6603-2 standard. A 100 mm&#xd7;100 mm test piece is cut out from a sheet having a thickness of 2 mm. The diameter of a striker is 12 mm. the diameter of an opening section of a holding tool is 76 mm, and the impact speed is set to 5 m/sec.

Laminate

The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a fiber-reinforced plastic that is capable of controlling anisotropy, has excellent mechanical characteristics, has little variation, has excellent heat resistance, and has good fluidity during forming. A production method for fiber-reinforced plastic, having: a step in which a material (A) () including a prepreg base material is obtained, said prepreg base material having cuts therein and having a thermoplastic resin impregnated in reinforcing fibers () arranged in parallel in one direction; a step in which a pressurizing device is used that applies a substantially uniform pressure in a direction (X) orthogonal to the travel direction of the material (A) () and the material (A) () is caused to travel in the one direction and is pressurized while being heated to a prescribed temperature (T), an angle (.theta.) of &#x2212;20-20 .degree. being formed between the orthogonal direction (X) and a fiber axial direction (Y) for the reinforcing fibers () of the prepreg base material; and a step in which the material (A) () pressurized by the pressurizing device is cooled and the fiber-reinforced plastic is obtained.

A prepreg formed from a resin and unidirectionally aligned reinforcement fibers, characterized in that: the prepreg is sheet-shaped; the prepreg has cutouts of a depth for cutting the reinforcement fibers, and includes reinforcement fibers (A) cut by the cutouts to a length of 10 to 50 mm and reinforcement fibers (B) having a length of equal to or more than 50% of the sheet length of the prepreg in the alignment direction of the reinforcement fibers; the surface area of a band section including the reinforcement fibers (B) in a plan view is 1.4% to 35.0% of the entire surface area of the prepreg in a plan view; and at least one end of the reinforcement fibers (B) is positioned at an end portion of the prepreg in the alignment direction of the reinforcement fibers.

Thermoplastic prepreg and laminate

A fiber-reinforced plastic producing method capable of easily producing a fiber-reinforced plastic in which swelling and warpage are less likely to occur and of which excellent mechanical characteristics and isotropy are ensured, and a fiber-reinforced plastic in which swelling and warpage are suppressed from occurring. The fiber-reinforced plastic producing method has a step for obtaining a material (A) including a prepreg base material in which a region (B), where reinforcing fibers pulled and aligned in one direction are impregnated with a matrix resin and a plurality of cuts (b) are formed, and a region (C), where a plurality of cuts (c) are formed, are alternately formed in a direction orthogonal to a fiber axis of the reinforcing fiber, a step for hot-pressing the material (A) while moving the material (A) under specific conditions, and a step for cooling the pressed material (A) to obtain the fiber-reinforced plastic.
