Antibacterial agent composed of silver-containing aluminum sulfate hydroxide particles and use thereof

The coloring problem of a conventional molded article is overcome while retaining the advantages of high strength and high flame retardancy of the molded article when a metal hydroxide is used in combination with red phosphorus and carbon powder in the method of imparting a synthetic resin with flame retardancy. The molded article can be colored in any color and exhibits decreased lowering of electric insulation resistance when submerged. The molded article comprises a base material colored from dark red to black containing 100 wt parts synthetic resin, 5-200 wt parts metal hydroxide, 1-30 wt parts red phosphorus and 0.1-30 wt parts carbon powder; and a skin layer laminated thereon masking a colored surface of the base wherein the skin layer contains 100 wt parts, 0-100 wt parts pigment, and 0-200 wt parts metal hydroxide, provided that the total amount of pigment and metal hydroxide in the skin layer is at least 0.001 wt parts.

Flame-retardant laminated resin molded article

There are provided a flame retardant comprising hydrotalcite compound particles which exhibits excellent heat deterioration resistance when it is used as a flame retardant for resins, a resin composition comprising the same and a molded article thereof. There are also provided a heat deterioration resistant flame retardant comprising hydrotalcite compound particles which (i) have an average secondary particle diameter, measured by a laser diffraction scattering method, of 2 &mgr;m or less and (ii) contain an iron compound and a manganese compound in a total amount of 0.02 wt % or less in terms of metals, a synthetic resin composition comprising the same and a molded article thereof.

Heat deterioration resistant flame retardant, resin composition and molded article

A flame retardant resin composition comprising (A) 100 parts by weight of a synthetic resin, (B) 20 to 150 parts by weight of magnesium hydroxide particles and (C) 20 to 150 parts by weight of aluminum hydroxide particles, wherein the magnesium hydroxide particles and the aluminum hydroxide particles satisfy the following conditions (i) to (v): (i) the average secondary particle diameter measured by a microtrack method is 0.4 to 4 .mu.m; (ii) the specific surface measured by a BET method is 1 to 15 m.sup.2 /g; (iii) the total content of an iron compound and a manganese compound is 200 ppm or less in terms of metals (Fe+Mn); (iv) the ratio of the specific surface measured by the BET method to the specific surface measured by a Blaine method is 1 to 4; and (v) the content of a water-soluble sodium salt is 500 ppm or less in terms of metal sodium. The present invention provide a halogen-free flame retardant resin composition which has excellent thermal stability, acid resistance, water-resistant insulating properties, mechanical strength and surface appearance and is economically advantageous, and a molded article therefrom.

Flame retardant resin composition

A flame-retardant resin composition, which comprises 100 parts by weight of a synthetic resin having 70 to 100% by weight of metallocene LLDPE, 20 to 100 parts by weight of a magnesium hydroxide having a BET specific surface area of 20 m.sup.2 /g or less, an average secondary particle diameter of 5 .mu.m or less, measured according to a laser diffraction scattering method, and a water-soluble sodium salt content of 500 ppm or less as a sodium, 1 to 20 parts by weight of red phosphorus having an average secondary particle diameter of 30 .mu.m or less and 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of a carbon powder, the total of the magnesium hydroxide, the red phosphorus and the carbon powder being 120 parts by weight or less.

Flame-retardant resin composition and its use

Provided by the present invention are a flame-retardant thermoplastic resin composition which consists of (a) 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin, (b) 5 to 60 parts by weight of a halogen-containing flame retardant, (c) 3 to 20 parts by weight of a flame-retardant aid, (d) 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of silicone and (e) 5 to 30 parts by weight of magnesium hydroxide particles, and which undergoes extinction without dripping so that highly reliable flame retardancy can be obtained, shows excellent mold releasability, and gives a molded article which hardly suffers deterioration in physical properties; and a molded article molded from the composition.

Flame-retardant thermoplastic resin composition

A halogen-free flame-retardant polyolefin resin composition which can give a molded article improved in low-temperature resistance and surface whitening resistance and improved in flame retardancy and melt index, and an expansion-molded article having uniform and fine gas bubbles without large-sized gas bubbles, the halogen-free flame-retardant polyolefin-based resin composition containing a polyolefin resin, a dihydric or trihydric metal hydroxide surface-treated with a saturated fatty acid, or, when the metal hydroxide is aluminum hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide surface-treated with a saturated or specific unsaturated fatty acid or an alkali metal salt thereof, and an aluminum salt of an unsaturated fatty acid having 10 to 30 carbon atoms.

Low-temperature-resistant, halogen-free, flame retardant

The flame retardant comprises 100 parts by weight of magnesium hydroxide, 2 to 750 parts by weight of red phosphorus and 0.2 to 250 parts by weight of an epoxy resin, and the flame-retardant polyamide-containing resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a polyamide-containing resin, 2 to 50 parts by weight of magnesium hydroxide, 1 to 15 parts by weight of red phosphorus and 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of an epoxy resin.

A fire retardant comprising 100 parts by weight of a metal hydroxide and 0.1 to 50 parts by weight of an acrylic fiber, and a fire-retardant resin composition comprising 20 to 80% by weight of a synthetic resin or rubber, 80 to 20% by weight of a metal hydroxide and 0.1 to 10 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the synthetic resin or rubber and the metal hydroxide in total, or an acrylic fiber. The present composition has improved fire retardancy free from degradation in mechanical strength and deterioration of water resistance, and the present fire retardant permits free coloring and releases no toxic smoke.
