A screen is provided on a housing in such a manner that the screen protrudes toward its nearer side, and is inclined so that the nearer side becomes lower. This screen displays thereon a first hierarchy menu for indicating an arrangement of genre pictures, a second hierarchy menu for indicating an arrangement of commodity pictures, and a map image for indicating a map of the sales counters. A user brings his or her hand tip nearer to this screen. This operation allows a double-ring pointer to be displayed at a position which corresponds to the spatial position or direction of the user's hand tip relative to the screen. On this screen, the user is permitted to change the position of this double-ring pointer by performing a gesture of changing the spatial position or direction of the user's hand tip.

Image display apparatus

An information display terminal allows a user to grasp rapidly and surely the direction to a destination, and can guide the user to the destination without placing a burden on the user. The information display terminal is provided at a passage, and its display screen displays a route guidance screen that guides a route to the destination. The route guidance screen displays a pseudo-action image that shows the walking motion, and a destination display information image indicating a destination name such as 'Subway Ticket Gate'. The action image shows the motion of walking toward the destination, but the display position does not change. The destination display information image is displayed in front of the action image in the advancing direction.

Information display terminal

A television operation method whereby a desired content screen can be shown on a TV receiver by controlling operation on the display of a remote terminal. When the TV display of the TV receiver shows a received program screen and the remote display of the remote terminal shows another received program screen, if the screen shown on the remote display is transferred to the TV display, a reception remote control screen to enable channel selection appears on the remote display. If buttons are operated so as to show a related web screen on the remote display and transfer the related web screen to the TV display, a web remote control screen for control of a cursor on the related web screen appears on the remote display.

Television operation method

To reduce the number of erroneous operations, on an operation apparatus conducting mutually different operations such as opening and closing operations, a concretized human pictogram indicating mutually different state changes such as state changes represented by use of a face with opened eyes and a face with closed eyes associated with operation signals assigned to a pair of operation switches and a pictogram in which the human pictogram is combined with an operation pictogram representing a state in which a door concretizing an operation target to operate in response to an operation signal is opened or is being completely closed are respectively attached to the operation switches disposed adjacent to each other.

Operation device and elevator apparatus with operation device

Desired contents information can be easily extracted in a contents information display device. The contents information display device includes: an information receiving part that receives contents information; a recording part that records received contents information; a display part that displays the contents information; an input part that inputs an operation signal; and a control part that totally controls these parts. The control part performs control to display the contents information around a selected time on the display part in a way that it can be selected as contents images arranged in a time sequence at a predetermined time interval.

Contents information display device

An information recording medium capable of displaying multiple labels and a storing case for the information recording medium are provided. The multiple labels are displayed by changing the labels to be displayed while selectively selecting information layers in a multi information recording medium. The medium has a function to receive either voltage or current, and the information layers selectively receive either voltage or current for changing the labels.

A display apparatus and an imaging apparatus constructed such that a high-resolution clear three-dimensional video image can be viewed from any direction. The display apparatus projects frame images, projected from a projector such as an electronic projector, to a video image projection surface of a three-dimensional screen through a polygonal mirror provided around the three-dimensional screen, thereby providing a polyhedral video image such as a three-dimensional image to a person viewing from around the video image projection surface. The three-dimensional screen has a view field angle limiting filter and a directional reflection screen. The view field angle filter limits the angle of a view field in the left/right direction, the angle being the angle of the projection on the video image projection surface () of the screen. The directional reflection screen has two sheets in horizontal and vertical directions. Furthermore, a projection light path between the electronic projector and the polygonal mirror is formed by refracting light through an auxiliary mirror.

Display system and camera system

A pointing device is placed in a through hole provided on an outer case of the portable information terminal. The terminal includes a fingerplate attached to a through hole via a hinge; an image pick-up element placed on a circuit board; a condensing lens that forms an image on an outer surface of the fingerplate on an image pick-up plane of the image pick-up element; and a light emitting device that irradiates the outer surface of the fingerplate with illumination light, and takes the image of a pattern such as a fingerprint that touches the outer surface of the fingerplate by using the image pick-up element. When the fingertip moves, the image taken by the image pick-up element changes and the pointer displayed on a display screen is moved in a direction according to the movement of the fingertip.

Pointing device and portable information terminal using the same

The prior art in this field had a display portion of electronic paper at a part of a shelf and showed a problem that the display portion and the goods were hardly co-related to each other in response to the arrangement of the goods. In view of the foregoing, plural images arranged in response to the number of stages of the shelves to be displayed are irradiated with a light source after each of the images is corrected in correspondence with the optical path length ranging from the light source to the end of each of the shelves, each of the images is guided to the end of each of the shelves by plural reflector members and then the images are displayed at the ends. In addition, each of the images is guided to the end of each of the shelves by plural reflector members and the images are displayed at the ends after plural images (either still images or animations) arranged in response to the number of stages of shelves to be displayed are irradiated by the light source and the optical path lengths ranging from the light source to the end of each of the shelves are set to be substantially the same to each other.

Shelf-like display machine and image display method

A display apparatus is provided which can display different text/image information depending on the viewing angle and the viewer, display a high reality three-dimensional image viewable from any direction and realize stereoscopic viewing without glasses or the like. The display apparatus includes a display unit having a view angle-limiting filter on its surface, a rotary mechanism to rotate the display unit and a control unit which implements control so that when the display unit, rotated by the rotary mechanism, is faced to each of plural directions, the display unit displays a different text/image content associated with the direction.

Display apparatus and image pickup apparatus

To take a ceremonial photograph including a user himself/herself in a theme park or the like, the user must hand to a third person a camera to ask the photographing. There is a system which can take a picture of a user when the user is in a predetermined position, but the user cannot confirm the picture when the user is being photographed. For the purposes, an image service system includes plural cameras connected to a network, an administration server for accumulating or distributing images taken by the cameras, and a client terminal for displaying the images taken by the cameras. The position of the user and the positions of surrounding cameras located within a predetermined distance from the client terminal are detected automatically. Images including the user can be displayed on the terminal.

Image providing service system

A conventional mouse and keyboard poses great load on the user's finger and hands at key operation, and the material used for its surface is rigid. An input device which can reduce the load on the user's finger, and gives soft touch by avoiding abrupt change in downward pressure at key operation. The input device includes elastic material on the surface, a camera to image the back surface of a key when the key is pressed, an image processor which determines finger position from the image, and an output which generates a signal according to the finger position. By using this input device, the user can carry out operations similar to those achieved by a mouse and keyboard for a computer.

Input device using elastic material

There is provided a display unit including a touch panel disposed on a display screen of a display panel to detect a touch position of a pointing device, operation being conducted by touching a touch operation member displayed on the screen. The display unit includes a sensor for sensing a pushing pressure caused when touching the touch operation member, and a control section for conducting first processing concerning the touch operation member pushed by the pointing device when the pressure sensed by the sensing unit satisfies a first predetermined pressure condition, and conducting second processing concerning the touch operation member, when the pushing pressure has changed from the first condition to a second one. Upon the change from the first condition to the second one, a function of moving the screen in a direction of pushing pressure caused by the pointer is executed by the second processing.

Display unit with touch panel

A display unit with a touch panel to move a touch-driven member such as a functional button to a desired position through a touch operation. By touching a draggable icon displayed on a screen with a finger, the icon is changed in color to indicate that the user can drag the icon. Then, by pushing the icon, the icon is changed in size and color to indicate that the user can drag the icon. As by reducing the pushing force to touch on the icon, and moving the finger, the icon is dragged following the finger. As by pushing the icon with the finger at a predetermined position, the icon is set at this position and changed in size and color. When releasing the finger from the icon, the icon is settled at this position.

Display unit with touch panel and information processing method

A pointing device is placed in a through hole provided on an outer case of the portable information terminal. The portable information terminal includes a fingerplate attached to a through hole via a hinge; an image pick-up element placed on a circuit board; a condensing lens that forms an image on an outer surface of the fingerplate on an image pick-up plane of the image pick-up element; and a light emitting device that irradiates the outer surface of the fingerplate with illumination light, and takes the image of a pattern such as a fingerprint of a fingertip that touches the outer surface of the fingerplate by using the image pick-up element. When the fingertip moves while touching the fingerplate, the image taken by the image pick-up element changes and the pointer displayed on a display screen is moved in a direction according to a change direction and by a distance corresponding to a quantity of change.
