A layered solid-state battery that includes a first unit cell, a second unit cell, and an internal collection layer that is disposed to intervene between the first unit cell and the second unit cell. Layered solid-state battery

A layered solid-state battery that includes a first unit cell, a second unit cell, and an internal collection layer that is disposed to intervene between the unit cells. Each of the unit cells includes a positive electrode layer, a solid electrolyte layer, and a negative electrode layer that are sequentially stacked. The internal collection layer has one side surface that is in contact with the positive electrode layer of the first unit cell and the other side surface that is in contact with the negative electrode layer of the second unit cell. Also, the internal collection layer contains an electron conductive material and an ion-conductively insulating specific conductive material.

Light emitting ceramic, light emitting element, scintillator, and method for producing light emitting ceramic

A translucent ceramic having a high linear transmittance and a high refractive index, substantially not causing double refraction, and exhibiting a high anomalous dispersion has a pyrochlore compound represented by the general formula ABO(wherein 1.00&#x2266;x/y&#x2266;1.10 and w represents a positive number maintaining electroneutrality) as a main component. The main component has a cubic crystal system. Preferably, the A site comprises a trivalent metallic element, and the B site comprises a tetravalent metallic element. More preferably, A is at least one of La, Y, Gd, Yb, and Lu, and B is of at least one of Ti, Sn, Zr, and Hf. The translucent ceramic is useful as a material of, for example, an objective lens used in an optical pickup.

Translucent ceramic, method for producing the same, optical component, and optical device

Provided is a translucent ceramic which has a high Abbe number, is advantageous in aberration correction, and can be easily produced. The translucent ceramic contains, as a main component, a garnet type compound represented by the General Formula: YAlO, wherein the condition of 4.4&#x2266;v&#x2266;5.4 is satisfied and w is a positive number for maintaining electrical neutrality, in which the Al is partially or entirely substituted by Ga and the Y is optionally partly substituted by Gd. The translucent ceramic is suitably used, for example, for lenses arranged with a diaphragm interposed therebetween in a Gauss lens optical system, such as an optical system for single-lens reflex cameras.
