An apparatus for practicing playing music on a musical instrument provides a stepped lesson comprised of a series of lesson steps about a subject music piece, each step providing practicing materials for a user to master for playing the subject music piece. The lesson steps are given to the user step by step. The apparatus stores a music-playing data set of a subject music piece for a reference and a music-playing data sets of the stepped lesson, and comprises a music-playing input device for the user to input music-playing manipulations. The apparatus judges, at each of the lesson steps, the achievements of the user in comparison with the reference music-playing data. The apparatus keeps a pass/fail score table for recording pass/fail judgments about the achievements of the user with respect to the respective lesson steps. The user can practice lesson steps selectively with reference to the pass/fail score table about his/her achievements.

Apparatus for practicing playing music

Provided is a platform door device which makes it possible to reduce the length of time for a replacement operation when a panel-shaped portion of a door is damaged. The platform door device comprises a door, and a driving mechanism for moving the door forwardly and backwardly to close and open a gate on a platform. The driving mechanism includes a motor, a rotation body adapted to be rotated by the motor, and a driven body adapted to be driven according to the rotation of the rotation body so as to move the door, and the door has a panel-shaped main body, and a base segment detachably joined to the main body and attached to the driven body.

Chord to be performed is presented to a user. Chord is detected based on one or more notes performed by the user. When it is not detected that a chord has been duly established, one of the notes performed by the user is detected as a root note of a chord. Comparison is made between the chord presented to the user and the detected chord to make a determination as to whether at least the root note of the detected chord matches the root note of the presented chord. The user is informed of a result of the determination. Thus, not only when the user has accurately executed performance operation for all component notes of the presented chord but also when the user has executed performance operation for only the root note of the presented chord, a chord performance evaluation is made, determining that the user has accurately performed.

Music performance training apparatus and method

Two-dimensional display section is provided near a keyboard, and, in accordance with performance data, this display section is caused to effect a dynamic display moving, in a given two-dimensional trajectory, from a first display position corresponding to a key to be currently depressed to a second display position corresponding to another key to be next depressed. Thus, a human player can readily intuitively predict the key to be next depressed and depression timing of the next key, in accordance with the display drawing a so-called bouncing-ball-like two-dimensional trajectory that appears as if a ball were bouncing. Further, with a performance guide by the non-conventional or novel bouncing-ball-like two-dimensional trajectory display, the human player can enjoy continuing to play the keyboard, without getting bored, as if the player were following a bouncing ball.

An improved thermopile infrared sensor is provided wherein thermoelectric elements are formed on a single crystalline silicon substrate containing a cavity therein. The thermopile infrared sensor contains a first dielectric film covering the cavity, a plurality of n-type polycrystalline silicon layers formed on the first dielectric film, extending radially from the vicinity of a chip center, and metal film layers formed in contact with the n-type polycrystalline silicon layers, wherein hot junctions are formed at the chip central side and cold junctions are formed at the chip peripheral side of the n-type polycrystalline silicon layers, respectively, by contacting the n-type polycrystalline silicon layer and the metal film layer, and at least one series of thermoelectric elements is formed on the first dielectric film by connecting alternately and successively, by the metal film layer, the hot junction and cold junction of the neighboring n-type polycrystalline silicon layer.

Thermopile infrared sensor and process for producing the same

A thin-film temperature sensor with a robust bridge structure and a stable electric characteristic, as well as a method of manufacture thereof, is provided. Over the substrate 1 with the cavity 13 are formed electrode layers 6 in a bridge shape, whose electrodes 6A, 6B are bonded with thermal sensitive resistor films 7, 8, which are then covered with a protective insulating film 9, a buffer film 10 and a glass layer 11 in that order. The protective insulating film 9 and the glass layer 11 extend over the substrate 1 to increase the mechanical strength of the infrared sensitive element A. The sandwich structure of the insulating films 5, 9 holding the thermal sensitive resistor films 7, 8 in between and the use of the buffer film 10 combine to prevent electrical characteristic variations, which would otherwise be caused by changes in composition of the thermal sensitive resistor films 7, 8 during the heat treatment process. The glass layer 11 is formed of borosilicate glass to improve its infrared absorption characteristic.

Thin-film temperature sensor

An infrared detector has a sensor with an infrared detecting portion composed of a thermal sensitive resistor film on an insulating film provided on a surface of a semiconductor substrate. The sensor is installed on a base such that it bridges a cavity in the substrate. The cavity is sealed by an infrared reflecting film or an infrared reflecting metallic board.
