An insulating plate for a secondary battery includes a wound electrode group, an electrolyte, a cylindrical battery case that houses the electrode group and the electrolyte, and a sealing body that seals an opening of the battery case and includes a discharge valve. The insulating plate is disposed between the electrode group and the sealing body and has a disk shape with a thickness T of 0.1 mm or more. The insulating plate has a first hole formed centrally therein and at least one second hole formed around the first hole so as to extend along the outer periphery of the disk shape. The ratio (=T/D) of the thickness T to a diameter D of the insulating plate is 0.016 or less, and the insulating plate has an opening ratio of 36% or less.

Secondary battery insulating plate and secondary battery including the same

A cylindrical battery with an opening sealing body which includes a valve member, a metal plate disposed on an inner side of the battery with respect to the valve member, and an annular insulating member interposed between the valve member and the metal plate. The valve member and the metal plate are connected at respective central portions. The metal plate and the insulating member each have communicating holes. The valve member has a thin-walled portion which is deformable when an internal pressure of the battery increases. The insulating member has a section that covers a surface, on the valve member side, of the metal plate, a section that is provided subsequent to the section and covers a circumferential end face of the metal plate, and a section that is provided subsequent to the section and covers a surface, on an inner side of the battery, of the metal plate.

Cylindrical battery

A wound-type battery includes a wound electrode group having a first electrode and a second electrode with polarity opposite to the first electrode, an electrolyte, a battery case, a sealing plate that seals an opening of the battery case, an insulating plate that is disposed between the electrode group and the sealing plate and that has a hole, and a first tab that passes through the hole to electrically connect the first electrode and the sealing plate to each other. At least a part of a region of the first tab that extends through the hole to a sealing plate side is covered with a tab tape on a side facing the insulating plate. The tab tape includes at least a first adhesive layer and a second adhesive layer on a side opposite the first adhesive layer and is in contact with the first tab through the first adhesive layer.

Wound-type battery

A cylindrical battery with an opening sealing body that seals an opening of a battery can. The opening sealing body includes a valve member, a metal plate disposed on an inner side of the battery with respect to the valve member, and an annular insulating member interposed between the valve member and the metal plate. The valve member and the metal plate are connected to each other at respective central portions. The valve member has an annular thin-walled portion which is deformable when an internal pressure of the battery increases. The metal plate and the insulating member have respective holes which communicate with each other. The insulating member has a section that covers a surface, on the valve member side, of the metal plate, and a section that is provided subsequent to the section and covers a lateral surface of the hole of the metal plate.

A metal case has a cylindrical body section, an opening section at one end of the body section, the opening section having an opening, and a bottom section closing the other end of the body section. At least one of the body section and the opening section has a protrusion sticking outward in the direction of the radius of the body section.

Metal case and battery

A battery can has a cylindrical body section, an opening section at one end of the body section, and a bottom section closing the other end of the body section. An annularly grooved portion is formed by constriction near the open end of the opening section. The annularly grooved portion has an upper-groove section as the section closer to the open end than the narrowest section, which is positioned farthest inside, of the grooved portion, and also has a lower-groove section as the section closer to the bottom section than the narrowest section. The wall thickness Tof the lower-groove section is larger than the wall thickness Tof the body section.

Battery can and cylindrical battery

A battery block includes a plurality of cylindrical batteries, a battery holder having a plurality of accommodating parts into which axial one end portions of the cylindrical batteries are inserted, and a pair of terminal plates, that connect the cylindrical batteries in parallel. Each of the accommodating parts includes the partition wall formed along an outer peripheral surface of cylindrical battery, an extending portion that extends on the first end surface so as to surround a part of the first end surface on which the safety valve is disposed and is formed integrally with the partition wall, and an opening that exposes the part of the first end surface on which the safety valve is disposed.

Battery block

A battery module includes a battery assembly and a thermally-conductive member to hold or support battery assembly. The battery assembly has a plurality of first batteries and a plurality of second batteries that are alternately stacked. The thermally-conductive member includes a first component and a second component that are each disposed along a stacking direction of the batteries. The first component has a heat resistance to the second batteries higher than to the first batteries. The second component has a heat resistance to the first batteries higher than to the second batteries.

Battery module

A cylindrical battery with an opening sealing body that seals an opening of a battery can. The opening sealing body includes a valve member, a metal plate disposed on an inner side of the battery with respect to the valve member, and an annular insulating member interposed between the valve member and the metal plate. The valve member and the metal plate are connected to each other at respective central portions. The valve member has an annular thin-walled portion which is deformable when an internal pressure of the battery increases, and a recessed portion is formed by the thin-walled portion on the insulating member opposing side of the valve member. The insulating member has a section Pthat covers a surface, on the valve member side, of the metal plate, and the section Phas a rib to be housed in the recessed portion.

A battery module includes a plurality of battery blocks arranged in an X direction and thermal insulating boards that are each disposed between the battery blocks adjacent to each other in the X direction. The thermal insulating boards have a thermal insulating property. Each battery block includes a plurality of cylindrical batteries closely arranged in two or more rows in a staggered formation, with central axes of the cylindrical batteries being parallel to each other, and a block case entirely surrounding a periphery of a battery unit made up of the plurality of the cylindrical batteries so that the plurality of cylindrical batteries stays closely arranged.

Battery module including thermal insulator disposed between battery blocks

A battery block includes a plurality of cylindrical batteries, a battery holder having a plurality of accommodating parts into which axial one end portions of the cylindrical batteries are inserted, and a pair of terminal plates that connect the cylindrical batteries in parallel. Each of the accommodating parts includes the partition wall formed along an outer peripheral surface of cylindrical battery, an extending portion that extends on the first end surface so as to surround a part of the first end surface on which the safety valve is disposed and is formed integrally with the partition wall, and an opening that exposes the part of the first end surface on which the safety valve is disposed.

A battery module includes: cells; and a battery holder made of a resin material that contains a filler in a resin matrix. In the resin material of the battery holder, the lower limit of the content of the filler is determined on the basis of the endothermic amount, and the upper limit of the content of the filler is determined on the basis of the viscosity. Another battery module includes: cylindrical cells; and a battery holder having a plurality of tubular first accommodation portions each having a substantially hexagonal hole and a plurality of tubular second accommodation portions each having a substantially polygonal (heptagonal or more) hole. In the battery holder, the first accommodation portions and second accommodation portions are arranged in a manner of log pile by sandwiching a first column including the first accommodation portions between second columns including the second accommodation portions.

A battery includes a bottomed cylindrical case body that accommodates an electrode body and a bottom-portion insulating plate () that is disposed between the electrode body and a bottom portion of the case body. The bottom portion of the case body has a gas discharge port that opens when an internal pressure of the battery reaches a predetermined pressure. The bottom-portion insulating plate () has a through hole. An aperture ratio, which is a ratio of an area of the through hole with respect to a total area of the insulating plate, is greater than or equal to 10% and less than or equal to 40%. A Young's modulus of the bottom-portion insulating plate at 25&#xb0; C. is 10 GPa or greater.

Battery

A battery module includes: a case body for storing a plurality of cells each having an exhaust gas valve; an exhaust passage for releasing, to the outside of the case body, the high-pressure and high-temperature exhaust gas having come from the cells; and a flow route changing unit that is disposed in the exhaust passage, has a hole for passing the exhaust gas, and elongates the flow route of the exhaust gas from the upstream side to the downstream side of the exhaust passage by changing the flow direction of the exhaust gas a plurality of times in a zigzag manner along at least one of the width and height directions of the exhaust passage. The flow route changing unit includes a plurality of flat plates each having a hole for passing the exhaust gas.
