A load abnormality detecting system and method for detecting the burnout and short circuit of a load are provided. A voltage generator () generates a specified voltage Vs in accordance with a load current IL. A judging device () compares a signal corresponding to this voltage (Vs) with a specified reference value (TT) to judge whether a load () has any abnormality. A selector () causes the burnout reference value (T) to be inputted to the judging device () and controls the voltage generator () to use a first resistance value when checking the burnout of the load () while causing the short-circuit reference value (T) to be inputted to the judging device () and controlling the voltage generator () to use a second resistance value when checking the short circuit of the load ().

Load abnormality detecting system and method

A connector-mounting construction has a printed-circuit board ( ) and a connector ( ) fastened to each other with a screw ( ). The automobile power source monitor is provided with: a breaker mounted in the feeding path through which the electric power from the battery is fed to the electric devices through the feed sockets A -Am provided in the car; an engine stop detecting circuit to detect the stop of the engine according to the L signal of the regulator IC , and to shut down the breaker through the driving circuit ; an over current detecting circuits C -Cm to detect the over current according to the detecting values of the current detecting circuits B -Bm, and to shut down the breaker ; an idling-up instruction circuit to detect the increase of the feeding current, and to instruct the idling-up; and a low voltage detecting circuit to detect the lowering of the output voltage of the battery and to shut down the breaker

Automobile power source monitor

A power supply monitoring apparatus, for which a plurality of different preset reference current values and corresponding permitted times are provided, includes: a cutoff device; current detection circuits; overcurrent detection circuits; an idle-up command circuit; and a low voltage detection circuit. When an overcurrent detection circuit detects a current value equaling or exceeding at least one of the preset reference current values, and when that condition continues for a time equaling or exceeding a permitted time corresponding to the pertinent reference current value, the circuit transmits a command to the cutoff device to interrupt the current supplied to a power feeding path. Further, when the idle-up command circuit detects an increase in a supplied current, an idle-up command is issued.

Power supply monitoring apparatus for vehicle

When a circuit is activated, bases of transistors Q,and Q,making up a first current mirror circuit,are grounded through switch means,whereby a current is forcibly made to flow into the bases of the transistors Q,and Q,Thus, the circuit operation can be made reliable at the activation time. A part of load current is shunted with good accuracy via a resistor R,having a first resistance value of a predetermined magnification of a resistance value of a shunt resistor Rs, the first current mirror circuit,and a second current mirror circuit,and the output end of the shunted current is grounded via a resistor R,having a second resistance value, so that an output voltage VOUT proportional to a load current IL can be obtained with good accuracy from the resistor R,and the load current IL can be found with good accuracy from the output voltage VOUT.

Current detector

The invention is a lamp burnout detecting unit with a branch connection function which provides the advantage of having simple wiring and that the wire harness thereof can be automatically laid. The lamp burnout detecting unit includes an upper casing on which terminal press-in type connectors and a burnout detecting circuit section 16 are mounted. A printed circuit board has a branch connection function. A lower casing 19 engages the upper casing to accommodate the printed circuit board therebetween. The connectors and the burnout detecting circuit section are connected to each other through a wiring pattern of the printed circuit board. One connector is connected to a wire harness, which is connected through switches to a battery. The other connectors are connected to a wire harness extended from the lamps.
