A battery pack has a battery obtained by packing a battery element with a packing member. The battery element is formed by winding or laminating an anode and a cathode through separators. The battery pack includes frame member surrounding the packing member packing the battery element and a coating layer constituted of a curable resin formed on surfaces of the packing member which are surrounded and demarcated by the frame member.

A battery pack includes: a battery having a main surface; and a resin layer capable of being integrated with an armor member armoring the battery so that at least a part of the main surface of the battery is exposed and covering the main surface of the battery, wherein the resin layer is formed by curing a reaction curable resin having a viscosity of not less than 80 mPa&#xb7;second to less than 1000 mPa&#xb7;second and a thickness of the resin layer on the main surface of the battery ranges from 0.05 mm to smaller than 0.4 mm.

A battery pack includes: a battery including a battery element covered with a packaging member, the battery element including a positive electrode and a negative electrode which are spirally wound together or stacked on one another through a separator; a protection circuit board for the battery; and a covering material collectively covering the battery and the protection circuit board. The covering material includes a shape-retaining polymer. The shape-retaining polymer contains an insulating curable polyurethane resin including polyol and polyisocyanate.

Battery pack and method for producing the same

A battery pack includes a battery including a battery element covered with a packaging member, a battery protection circuit board, a covering material, and a rippable portion formed in a part of the covering material. The battery element includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode which are spirally wound or stacked through a separator. The covering material collectively covers the battery and the battery protection circuit board. The rippable portion rips open due to a gas generated from the battery in the event of an abnormal condition to form a gas release hole for releasing the gas outside the battery pack.

A polymer electrolyte capable of obtaining superior discharge characteristics and a battery using it are provided. A cathode () and an anode () are wound with a separator () in between. After that, the wound body is contained inside a package member. Then, an electrolytic composition containing a solvent, polyvinyl acetal or the derivative thereof, and lithium hexafluorophosphate is added thereto. Polyvinyl acetal or the derivative thereof is polymerized by using lithium hexafluorophosphate as a catalyst. Thereby, a polymer electrolyte () is formed, and the discharge characteristics are improved.

Polymer electrolyte and battery

A battery pack is provided. The battery pack includes: a generator device having a battery element disposed on a flexible covering material folded to cover the battery element, wherein three sides of the flexible covering material around the battery element are sealed; a rigid covering material for covering the generator device, having an opening and being bonded to the flexible covering material of the generator device; and a cover fitted into the opening of the rigid covering material, wherein the rigid covering material has a three-layer structure having an outer packaging layer, a metal layer, and a heat-bonding layer which are stacked on one another, and the heat-bonding layer is one selected from an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, an ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer, an ethyl acrylate copolymer, a methyl acrylate copolymer, a methacrylic acid copolymer, a methyl methacrylate copolymer, polyacrylonitrile, an ethylene vinyl alcohol resin, a polyamide resin, a polyester resin, acid-modified polypropylene, or an ionomer.

Battery pack

A battery capable of obtaining a high capacity and reducing its expansion is provided. A spirally wound electrode body formed through laminating a cathode and an anode with a separator and an electrolyte in between to form a laminate and spirally winding the laminate is included in a package member made of an aluminum laminate film. An anode active material layer includes an agglomerated graphite material in which a plurality of primary particles made of graphite having fine pores are agglomerated so that the orientation planes thereof are not parallel to each other, at least in part, to form secondary particles. In the agglomerated graphite material, the total volume of fine pores with a diameter from 10 nm to 1&#xd7;10nm inclusive estimated by mercury porosimetry ranges from 0.5 cm/g to 1.5 cm/g inclusive per unit weight.

Anode active material and battery

A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a cathode; an anode containing at least an anode active material and a conductive agent; and a nonaqueous electrolyte, wherein the anode has an anode mixture, the anode mixture containing 1.5 wt % or more to 10 wt % or less aluminum oxide which has an average particle diameter of 0.1 &#x3bc;m or more to 5.0 &#x3bc;m or less.

Nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery

The present invention relates to a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which a spirally coiled battery element obtained by spirally coiling an anode () and a cathode () through a separator () is accommodated in a battery can () filled with a non-aqueous electrolyte. A fluoride MF(M indicates at least one metal selected from between Cu, Ni, Ag, Ti, Sn and Cr, and n is an integer.) is included in the anode before an initial charging operation, and assuming that the initial charging capacity of the battery is Q [mAh] and a Faraday constant is F [C/mol], an amount m [mol] of the fluoride MFincluded in the anode is located within a range represented by the following expression0.0036 Q/nF&#x2266;m&#x2266;0.36 Q/nF.

Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

Provided are an electrode and a battery having superior charge-discharge cycle characteristics and capable of obtaining a higher energy density. The battery comprises a spirally wound electrode body () including a cathode () and an anode () spirally wound with a separator () in between. During charge, lithium metal is precipitated on the anode (), so the capacity of the anode () is represented by the sum of a capacity component by insertion and extraction of lithium and a capacity component by precipitation and dissolution of the lithium metal. The anode () includes a mixture layer () having a powdered anode active material, and the mixture layer () has liquid absorption properties that when 1 &#x3bc;dmof propylene carbonate is dropped on the mixture layer () at 23&#xb0; C., a contact angle that the mixture layer () forms with a propylene carbonate drop becomes 10 degrees within 100 seconds. Thereby, the mixture layer () is impregnated with an electrolyte solution quickly and uniformly, so lithium metal is uniformly precipitated on the whole mixture layer ().
