A control device for a motorcycle includes a removal detecting unit for detecting the removal of an equipment, which is required during a public road running of the automotive vehicle, from the motorcycle, a determining unit for determining the presence of the motorcycle on a non-public road area in the event that a determining condition including a detection signal fed from the removal detecting unit is satisfied, and a drive control unit operable in response to a determining signal from the determining unit to set a non-public road mode appropriate to the non-public road running. The equipment referred to above is at least one of a back viewing mirror, a headlight, a tail lamp, a number plate, a license lamp, a warning horn, a side stand and turn indicators.

A slip suppression control system for a vehicle includes a monitored value detecting device for detecting a monitored value corresponding to a difference between a rotational speed of a front wheel and a rotational speed of a rear wheel of the vehicle, a threshold determiner unit configured to determine a relationship between the monitored value detected by the monitored value detecting device and a threshold; and a controller configured to initiate traction control for reducing a driving power of a drive wheel when the threshold determiner unit determines that the monitored value exceeds a predetermined start threshold, wherein the threshold determiner unit is configured to count a return time which lapses from when the monitored value exceeds the start threshold until the monitored value becomes smaller than second threshold; and wherein the controller is configured to determine whether or not to terminate the traction control based on the return time.

A vehicle comprises a driving state detecting device configured to detect a driving state, a command signal output device configured to output a detected command signal indicating an engine driving power change command, an opening degree signal output device configured to output a detected opening degree signal, a valve drive device configured to drive a throttle valve; and a controller which is configured to set a target opening degree of the throttle valve based on the detected command signal and to control the valve drive device to cause an opening degree to match the target opening degree. The controller is configured to set, according to the driving state, the target opening degree to a smaller value than when the command signal and the opening degree signal are normal, when at least one of the command signal and the opening degree signal is abnormal.

In a personal watercraft and a buffer member of the present invention, a gunnel or the buffer member (bumper) functions as a sponson. An elongate-plate shaped sponson portion is protruded in a lower portion of a corner bumper provided on a side portion of a body along the longitudinal direction of the body. The sponson portion extends such that its longitudinal direction substantially corresponds with the longitudinal direction of the body. A rear end portion of the sponson portion has a width larger than that of a front end portion thereof. The corner bumper functions as the sponson as well as the conventional buffer member.

Personal watercraft and buffer member for personal watercraft

A substantially U-shaped front bumper as seen in a plan view is mounted on a gunnel at a front end of the watercraft so as to partially cover the gunnel. The front bumper has a base portion attached to the gunnel, and an extending portion extending upwardly from the base portion so as to partially cover a streamlined surface of a deck. There is provided a pump structure of a jet-propulsion watercraft adapted to eject water pressurized and accelerated by a water jet pump driven by the engine from an outlet port so as to be propelled as the resulting reaction, the water jet pump comprising a cylindrical pump casing, an impeller supported coaxially in the pump casing and rotatably driven by the engine, and a cylindrical sleeve made of a metal different from a metal of the pump casing, wherein an annular layer made of a material that decreases electrolytic corrosion or oxidation of the pump casing or the sleeve is formed between the pump casing and the sleeve.

Pump structure of jet-propulsion watercraft

A discharge port 4 for discharging air into water is provided on the bottom of a craft behind the rear end of a strip 3 which is installed on the bottom of a small planing watercraft to protrude therefrom and extend in the longitudinal direction of the craft body. A pressure drop in a space behind the rear end of the strip 3 is used to suck in air outside of the craft and guide it through a discharge duct 5 to the discharge port 4, thereby decreasing the pressure resistance and friction resistance generated at the back of the strip 3 rear end. Ram pressure during running of the craft may also be used to take in air from the outside of the craft and guide it through the discharge duct 5 to the discharge port 4, thereby to discharge air from the discharge port 4 into water. The maximum craft speed and the craft acceleration performance is improved by sufficiently decreasing friction resistance at the back of strip rear end.
