A weathertight sash window assembly including a pair of first and second engaging members disposed on and extending longitudinally of a pair of meeting first and second stiles, respectively. The first engaging member is movable between a first position in which the first engaging member pulls or draws the second engaging member toward the interior of the window assembly to force the second stile firmly on to the first stile throughout their length and a second position in which the first engaging member releases the second engaging member to allow the second stile off the first stile. The sash window assembly further includes means on the first stile for moving the first engaging member between the first and second positions in response to movement of a first fastener member between its locked and unlocked positions.

Weathertight sliding sash window assembly

A window latch comprises a cam keeper on one meeting window stile and a rotatable latch cam on the other meeting stile for locking engagement with the cam keeper. The latch cam has an actuator shaft operatively connected to a slide plate, which is movable along a straight line in response to rotation of the actuator shaft. The slide plate has a slot and fixed first engaging means. A base plate carries a locking feeler having second engaging means movable transversely of the direction of movement of the slide plate, the second engaging means normally engaging the first engaging means to prevent the movement of the slide plate. The slide plate and hence the latch cam are allowed to move when the locking feeler is pushed by said one meeting window stile to cause the second engaging means to disengage from the first engaging means into the slot.

Window latch

A tiltable roller assembly attachable to a door or window sash includes an attachment frame mountable on the door or window sash, a tilt frame loosely mounted in the attachment frame and tiltable in a first direction, a roller frame pivotally mounted on the tilt frame, and a roller rotatably supported on the roller frame. A pair of spaced blocks are mounted in said tilt frame, with the roller frame disposed between the spaced blocks, and there is an adjustment screw threadedly extending through a selected one of the blocks into abutting engagement with the roller frame. The roller frame is pivotably adjustable relatively to the second frame in a second direction transverse to the first direction, in response to turning of the adjustment screw. The attachment frame includes a pair of spaced sidewalls between which the tilt frame is disposed, there being spring means acting between one of the sidewalls and the spaced blocks and normally urging the tilt frame against the other sidewall.

Tiltable roller assembly

A swivel roller assembly to be mounted at the bottom end of a folding door stile which is movable in the plane of a doorframe during the opening and closing of the door. The roller assembly comprises a hollow outer member to be immovably fitted in the bottom end of the stile, a hollow inner member rotatably received in the outer member and adapted to be mounted astride the sill rail of the doorframe, and a roller rotatably mounted within the inner member for rolling engagement with the sill rail. The outer member bears on the inner member via a bearing washer, as of stainless steel, for swivelling motion relative to same.
