A variable capacity compressor for use in a heat-exchange circuit. A pressure responsive valve is provided in a communication passageway extending between a low pressure chamber and a pressure controlled chamber. The pressure responsive valve is operative in response to pressure within the low pressure chamber for opening and closing the communication passageway to control pressure within the pressure controlled chamber, thereby varying the capacity of the compressor in such a manner as to reduce the capacity when the pressure within the low pressure chamber decreases to a level lower than a predetermined value. An electrically operated control device is operative in response to pressure or temperature of refrigerant gas in an evaporator of the heat-exchange circuit for maintaining the capacity large independently of operation of the pressure responsive valve, even if the pressure within the low pressure chamber decreases to a level lower than the predetermined value.

Variable capacity compressor

A variable capacity wobble plate compressor in which pressure in a crankcase accomodating a wobble plate is controlled by a pressure-control valve disposed across a communication passage connecting the crankcase and a suction chamber, whereby the delivery quantity or capacity is varied with a change in the inclination angle of the wobble plate depending on the pressure in the crankcase. The pressure-control valve comprises bellows variable in length with a change in the magnituted of suction pressure, a valve body attached to one end of the bellows, a first movable member attached to the other end of the bellows, a first spring urging the valve body in the closing direction, a second movable member which is brought into or out of urging contact with the first movable member in response to at least a change in the discharge pressure, and a second spring interposed between the second movable member and a spring seat. When the discharge pressure is higher than a predetermined value, the second movable member is biased away from the first movable member by the discharge pressure against at least the force of the second spring. When the discharge pressure is lower than the predetermined value, the second movable member is urged against the first movable member by at least the force of the second spring against the discharge pressure to urge the valve body in the closing direction via the first movable member, the first spring and the bellows.

Variable capacity wobble plate compressor

A compressor of a type in which a plurality of pistons reciprocate in cylinders. A mechanism is provided to reduce pulsating of discharge pressure in the cylinder head. A high pressure chamber formed in the cylinder head is partitioned by a partition plate into a first high pressure chamber communicating with a plurality of discharge holes in the valve plate by means of a discharge valve and a second high pressure chamber communicated with a discharge opening formed in the cylinder head, and the pulsating is reduced by the passing of the gas through the first high pressure chamber and the second high pressure chamber.

Compressor having pulsating reducing mechanism

In a swash-plate type rotary compression, a pair of cylinder blocks are formed of an aluminum alloy containing 16 to 20 weight % silicon. A ring made of a synthetic resin having wear resistance and slidability is fitted in a ring groove formed in a sliding surface of each of pistons which is brought into sliding contact with the corresponding cylinder bore, or a coating layer formed of a ferrous metal is provided on the above sliding surface. A drive shaft is fitted in a central bore in each of the cylinder blocks such that radial load exerted by the drive shaft is directly borne by an inner peripheral surface of the central bore, and an oil passageway supplies lubricating oil to a clearance between an outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft and the inner peripheral surface of the central bore.

Swash-plate type rotary compressor with drive shaft, lubrication

A compressor of a type in which a plurality of pistons reciprocate in cylinders, the improved compressor in which a mechanism is provided to reduce pulsating of suction pressure in the cylinder head. The inside of the cylinder head is partitioned into a high pressure chamber on the side of the center and a low pressure chamber on the side of the periphery by means of bulkhead formed on the cylinder head. The low pressure chamber communicates the suction holes and the discharge opening formed on the cylinder head. The outer peripheral wall of the low pressure chamber is arranged to reduce a resistance of gas passing through the low pressure chamber as the convex portion constituting the periphery of the connecting bolt and the concave portion constituting the peripheries of the suction holes are connected by means of a connecting portion having a smooth curved surface.

In an improved swash plate type compressor in which a first end block, holding a first valve plate against one end of the cylinder block, defines a first input plenum and an output plenum with input and output valve means for a first set of cylinder chambers, a partition plate is secured between the other end of the cylinder block and a second end block and holds a second valve plate against that end of the cylinder block, defining for a second set of cylinder chambers a second input plenum with input valve means and an output chamber with an output valve means. The second end block defines inlet and outlet buffering chambers to which an inlet and an outlet open. The cylinder block is formed with an input transfer passage communicated at its ends to the first and second input plenums. The partition plate is formed with an output transfer aperture for the output chamber, communicating it to the outlet buffering chamber. Also, a means communicates from the inlet buffering chamber to the input transfer passage. Thereby, input and output pulsations are well attenuated.

Swash plate type compressor improved with elongated and tortuous input

In an evaporator composed of a plurality of hollow bodies defining therein tanks at opposite ends and refrigerant passages intermediate therebetween, and a plurality of fins, the hollow bodies and the fins being alternately superposed, refrigerant inlet and outlet pipes are interposed between at least one of the hollow bodies at the opposite sides of the evaporator and at least one end plate attached thereto, and held in a predetermined position by locating projections formed on the end plate. The inlet and outlet pipes are each formed of a pair of semitubular members joined together in an abutting manner. The pipes are brazed together with the hollow bodies, fins, and end plates, in a furnace.
