A pneumatic tool includes a tool body, a nose part for ejecting a nail, which is provided in a lower part of the tool body, an air chamber for storing compressed air, which is provided in the tool body, an air supply pipe for supplying the compressed air from an air supply source to the air chamber, an air duster, an air duster pipeline connected to an air outlet of the air duster, and an air duster valve for controlling supply of the compressed air to the air duster pipeline.

Pneumatic tool

An air duster duct is formed to branch off at an intermediate portion along the length of an air duct which connects a compressed air supply source with a pneumatic tool. A valve mechanism having a selector valve and an operating device is provided at the branch portion. The sector valve can shift to a first position where the selector valve opens an upstream side duct which communicates with the air supply source to a downstream side duct which communicates with a nailing machine and shuts the upstream side duct relative to the air duster branch duct and a second position where the selector valve shuts the upstream side duct relative to the down stream side duct and opens the upstream side duct to the branch duct. The selector valve is operated from the outside by the operating device.

Pneumatic tool with air duster

The object of the invention is to make it possible to fill connecting fasteners of various thicknesses in a single kind of fastener magazine. A connecting fastener is such that the thickness of a connecting band () is increased or decreased according to the stem diameter of a screw (), whereby the width of the connecting fastener () as seen in the direction of travel thereof is made constant, and the connecting band () is brought into engagement with a longitudinal guide groove () formed in the fastener passageway of the fastener magazine () of a screw fastening machine. This makes it possible to stably hold the connecting fasteners () of various stem diameters at a given height, thus improving the versatility of the fastener magazine.

Connecting fastener

A fastener magazine of, e.g., an electric screwdriver into which connected fasteners of various girths can be loaded to improve the versatility. A fastener magazine () of a fastening machine has therein a press plate () of spring-pressing type opposed to feed pawl () of a fastener feed mechanism. The pressing plate () is disposed at a height at which the connecting belt (B) of the connected screws (S) is placed and presses the shafts of the connected screws (S) against the wall face of the feed pawl () side. The connecting belt (B) is placed on the top face of the pressing plate () and supported. The fastener passage is so broad that even thick fasteners can be loaded, and therefore screws of various girths can be held at predetermined heights. Since the connected screws (S) are pressed against the wall face of the feed pawl () side, the engagement between the feed pawl () and the connected screws (S) is stable, and resultantly the reliability of screw feed is improved.

A nose () of an air impact driver () is mounted with a slidable contact nose () and by the contact nose, a contact valve () upward therefrom is operated to switch. An AND circuit operated to pilot an air motor controlling pilot valve () and a piston controlling pilot valve () is constituted by a trigger valve () operated by a trigger lever () and the contact valve (). When the contact nose is pressed and the trigger lever is pulled, the air motor controlling pilot valve and the piston controlling pilot valve are switched to starting positions to start the air impact driver.

Safety apparatus of air impact driver

A plurality of screws () are aligned in parallel with each other, and head side portions () of shaft portions (A) of the screws are fixed, by a band () fixed to a strip sheet (), to be band-shaped connected screws (). Further, in the band-shaped connected screws (), the head side portion () of the shaft portion (A) of each screw () is formed with an inverse screw thread () formed inverse direction to a screw thread () formed at the shaft portions (A).

An air cylinder is connected to a centrifugal mesh clutch mechanism connected to an air motor. A driver bit is mounted to a front face of a piston of the air cylinder. A hexagonal shaft is mounted to a rear face thereof and the hexagonal shaft is fitted to a hexagonal hole formed at an anvil of the centrifugal mesh clutch mechanism. A hole having a diameter larger than that of the hexagonal shaft is formed at center of a rotor of the air motor to thereby enable to freely lift the piston and the driver bit in the air cylinder. By simultaneously driving the air motor and the air cylinder by pressurized air, the hexagonal shaft, the piston and the driver bit advance while rotating integrally to thereby fasten a screw.

A screw driving and turning machine comprises: a body having a nose portion; a driving cylinder received in the body; a screw driving mechanism having a driving piston having a driving and turning bit slidably accommodated in the driving cylinder, wherein compressed air is fed into the driving cylinder to drive the driving piston, and a screw held in the nose portion of the body is driven to a state in which a head portion of the screw is raised; a screw turning mechanism having an air motor driven by a portion of compressed air fed to the driving cylinder, for turning the screw, which has been driven by the driving piston; a stop valve for opening and closing an air passage between the driving cylinder and the air motor, arranged in the middle of the air passage; and a contact arm slidably arranged along the nose portion, for operating the stop valve by being pushed to the body in accordance with pressing an end of the contact arm against a material into which the screw is driven, wherein the feed of compressed air from the driving cylinder to the air motor is stopped by closing the stop valve when the contact arm is pushed to a predetermined position by pressing an end of the contact arm against the material into which the screw is driven.

A screw tightener using coupled screws comprises: a screw tightener body including a driver bit; a nose portion movable in the axial direction of the driver bit; a spring usually urging the nose portion to move forward from the screw tightener body; a feed wheel rotatably supported by the nose portion, wherein coupled screws supplied to the nose portion are fed in the direction of extension of the driver bit by interlocking the rotation of the feed wheel with the movement of the nose portion to be forced into the screw tightener body; retaining members for mutually retaining the screw tightener body and the nose portion when the indentation force is released after the nose portion is moved to be forced partway into the screw tightener body; and guide groove for preventing the retaining members from retaining when the nose portion is caused by the spring to undergo a reset movement with respect to the screw tightener body after the nose portion is moved to be forced into the screw tightener body by a predetermined movement.

A clutch mechanism for a screw tightening machine having a clutchment and a main shaft, the clutchment interlocking with a screw tightening machine driving mechanism, the main shaft holding a screw tightening driver bit, the clutchment and the main shaft opposing each other along the center of the driver bit with the main shaft being urged with a spring to move away from the clutchment, so that the main shaft is engaged with or released from the clutchment, the clutch mechanism includes: a plurality of first clutch claws around the circumference subtending the center of the shaft, the first clutch claws being projecting on an end of the main shaft; second clutch claws meshable with the first clutch claws, the second clutch claws being arranged on the clutchment to make a predetermined amount of pivotting about an axis from such a position as to squarely oppose the first clutch claws, the axis being perpendicular to the center of the shaft, the second clutch claws being always urged in the squarely opposed position, wherein the clutchment is engaged with the main shaft by having the first clutch claws meshed with the second clutch claws, and the clutchment is released from the main shaft by causing the first clutch claws to move away from the second clutch claws.

In a linked-screw tightener in which linked screws held by a coupling belt at predetermined intervals is passed through a linked-screw guide passage provided near a leading end of and across a nose portion installed movably at the leading end of a linked-screw tightener body relative to a screwing direction, a foremost screw is fed into an open space between a pair of chuck pawls positioned in the substantially central part of the nose portion and capable of opening and closing in accordance with the movement of the nose portion relative to the linked-screw tightener body, and the supplied screw is driven with a driver bit, the screw guide unit includes: a foremost screw receiving port formed on the pair of chuck pawls wherein the foremost screw receiving port opens in the chuck pawls closing condition to allow the foremost screw to be fed into the open space between the pair of the chuck pawls; and a guide member disposed at the pair of the chuck pawls, for opening and closing the foremost receiving port to hold the foremost screw at the pair of the chuck pawls, wherein the guide member operates together the movement of the nose portion relative to the linked-screw tightener body.

A switch-locking mechanism in a screw tightener in which a motor for rotating a driver bit is activated by pulling a trigger, includes: a mating projection provided on the trigger; a trigger block slidably accommodating the trigger in part such that the mating projection of the trigger is positioned in the trigger block, the trigger block being fixed to the screw tightener body; a first spring urging the trigger in a opposite direction to the trigger pulling direction at all times; and a slide locker operative in a direction perpendicular to the trigger pulling direction, the slide locker having a locking projection movable in and out the moving locus of the mating projection of the trigger.
