An object of the present invention is to provide a light source lens that makes it possible to improve unevenness in a luminance distribution, an illumination unit, and a display unit. A light source lens () according to the present disclosure includes an incident surface on which light from a light-emitting device is incident, and an exit surface () that has a diffusing function at a center part () for light incident through the incident surface as well as a light-condensing function at at least a portion of an intermediate part () and a peripheral part () for the light incident through the incident surface.

Light source lens, illumination unit, and display unit

A lens diffusing light emitted from a light source includes a concave light-incident surface, a light guide portion, and a light-emitting surface. The light-incident surface includes a plane portion opposed to the light source and an optical function portion that is formed on the plane portion and one of scatters and diffuses the light. The light emitted from the light source enters the light-incident surface. The light that has entered the light-incident surface passes through the light guide portion. The light-emitting surface emits the light passed through the light guide portion.

A structure for measuring a distance on the basis of the principle of triangulation is simplified. A distance measuring module includes a diffractive optical element, an imaging element, and a distance measuring unit. The diffractive optical element emits a predetermined number of line light beams. The imaging element images the line light beams with which the subject is irradiated. The measuring unit measures a distance from the subject by using triangulation on the basis of the imaged line light beams. Thus, by imaging the line light beams emitted via the diffractive optical element, the distance from the subject is measured with a simple structure.

The backlight device includes, as a light source, a plural number of principal light emitting diode units, and a plural number of subsidiary light emitting diode units, where m and n are natural numbers. Each principal light emitting diode unit is made up by a plural number of light emitting diodes () arrayed in a string and emits white light of preset chromaticity. Backlight device

This color filter () is constituted by a tristimulus color filter for wavelength-selecting and transmitting red light, green light and blue light. The red light, green light and blue light, generated by a light source, made up by a red light emitting diode (R), a green light emitting diode (G) and a blue light emitting diode (B), respectively, are mixed together to generate white light. The red light has a half-value width hwr such that 15 nm&#x2266;hwr&#x2266;30 nm, and the green light has a half-value width hwg such that 25 nm&#x2266;hwg&#x2266;50 nm.
