An oil pan includes a bottom portion, a side wall portion standing upward form an edge portion of the bottom portion, a cylindrical lubricating oil amount adjusting wall structure standing upward from substantially the central portion of the bottom portion and formed, to an inner peripheral portion thereof, with a lubricating oil amount adjusting passage which communicates with an external portion, the lubricating oil amount adjusting wall having a lubricating oil drain port formed to a lower portion thereof, a cylindrical lubricating oil adjusting plug assembled detachably to the lubricating oil amount adjusting passage so that the lubricating oil adjusting plug closes the lubricating oil drain port, the lubricating oil amount adjusting plug being formed with a communication port communicating with the lubricating oil amount adjusting passage, and a drain plug fitted detachably to the communication port.

A canister having a liquefied fuel treating function capable of flexibly coping with layout restrictions without the need to bend the purging path in the middle. The canister having the liquefied fuel treating function includes a liquid storing case having an introducing path communicating with a fuel tank, and a purging path communicating with air inlet pipes of an engine; and a sucking path, provided in the liquid storing case, and sucking the liquefied fuel stored in the liquid storing case; which sucks up the liquefied fuel onto the purging path side by use of the flow of a fluid through the purging path; wherein the sucking direction of the liquefied fuel within the sucking path is caused to substantially agree with the flow direction of the fluid in the purging path. It is therefore possible to cope even with a case where the purging path extending upward must be provided on the ceiling surface of the canister having the liquefied fuel treating function because of the restrictions in layout, without the need to bend the purging path, by extending the purging path upward as it is in parallel with the sucking path.

Canister having liquefied fuel treating function

A canister module includes a canister housing in which a plurality of cylindrical adsorbent chambers filled with adsorbent are provided side by side with a gap therebetween. Canister-peripheral parts are connected to the adsorbent chambers through communicating openings provided on the canister housing and are in the gap.

A fuel vapor capturing canister includes a cylindrical casing having a communicating hole which is formed at one end so as to communicate with the atmosphere and another communicating hole which is formed at the other end so as to communicate with a fuel tank and an intake system of an engine. An adsorbent is accommodated in the casing so as to form at least one layer. A pair of partitioning plates partition the adsorbent layer longitudinally of the casing. A deflecting plate is disposed between the partitioning plates so as to protrude from an inner wall face of the casing inwardly of the same. The partitioning plates are open in the vicinity of sides of the deflecting plate respectively.

Fuel vapor capturing canister having increased distance of flow of fuel

A fuel vapor capturing canister includes a casing formed into the shape of a cylinder and accommodating an adsorbent material. A partition member divides the activated carbon into lower and upper layers. The partition member includes a cross rib and upper and lower walls sandwiching the rib. One of four pieces of the cross rib is connected to the inner peripheral wall of the partition member. Two chambers located at both sides of the piece connected to the inner peripheral wall of the partition member communicate with each other through a communicating path defined between the other pieces of the rib and the inner peripheral wall of the partition member. One of the two chambers has in its underside openings communicating with the lower activated carbon layer while the other chamber has in its top openings communicating with the upper activated carbon layer. The fuel vapor flows between the two layers of activated carbon. Since the communicating path between the layers of activated carbon is long, the fuel vapor capturing performance can be improved.

A fuel vapor capturing canister includes a casing formed into the shape of a cylinder and accommodating an adsorbent material and a plurality of partition plates each formed of an impermeable material. The adsorbent material accommodated in the casing has one of two faces communicating with the atmosphere and the other face communicating both with a fuel storage system and an intake system of an engine. The partition plates are disposed in the casing so as to divide the adsorbent material into a plurality of layers. The partition plates has respective communicating holes formed so as not to lie one above another. This arrangement of the partition plates lengthens a path of fuel vapor passing through the activated carbon layers. Since the distance of flow of the fuel vapor in contact with the adsorbent material is thus increased, the fuel component adsorbing efficiency can be improved.

A canister includes a casing, a fuel reserve well defined at the bottom of the casing, an adsorbent layer provided in the casing for adsorbing fuel vapor, the adsorbent layer communicating with the fuel reserve well at a region of its lower portion and communicating with an atmosphere at its upper portion, a first communication passage defined so that the fuel reserve well communicates with a fuel system of an engine, and a second communication passage defined so that the fuel reserve well communicates with an intake system o f the engine. The second communication passage includes a purge chamber communicating with a region of the adsorbent layer other than the region of the adsorbent layer with which the fuel reserve well communicates, a first fuel outflow passage having a liquid fuel suction port open to the bottom of the fuel reserve well at its lower portion and a nozzle opening positioned in the purge chamber at its upper portion, and a second fuel outflow passage defined over the nozzle opening of the first fuel outflow passage for providing a fuel flow passage extending from the purge chamber to the suction system of the engine.
