An image forming apparatus automatically adjusts a printing distance from a sheet edge on the basis of a result obtained by reading, with a reader, a test sheet printed by an image former. The image former prints a solid cover sheet of a predetermined color other than white having a void portion on four sides. The test sheet is placed on OC glass having a first size guide and a second size guide on its periphery, in alignment with the origin of the first size guide and the second size guide. The reader reads the test sheet in a state in which the cover sheet is placed on the test sheet so that the void portion is disposed outside the first size guide and the second size guide.

Image forming apparatus and method of reading test sheet

A display device includes a non-translucent cover, a light source provided inside the cover, and a translucent light display that is transmissive to light from the light source. The light display has a protrusion disposed in a through opening of the cover. The protrusion fitted into the through opening from the inside spans a first side surface and a second side surface of the cover, and protrudes outward from the outer surface of the cover to form a light guide. The light guide has a smaller thickness in a corner portion corresponding to a connection region between the first side surface and the second side surface than in other portions thereof.

Display device, document reading device, and image forming apparatus

A cover that covers side surfaces of a document conveyance path and a paper feeder in a direction orthogonal to a document conveyance direction and a notifier that notifies information on a document placement section are included. The cover has a first side surface disposed along the document conveyance direction and a second side surface disposed from an end of the first side surface on the paper feeder side toward the document placement section. The notifier includes a displayer that displays the information by light. The displayer includes a first displayer disposed on the first side surface and a second displayer disposed on the second side surface toward the document placement section. The first displayer and the second displayer each have a horizontal length that is longer than a vertical length.

Document feeder and image forming apparatus

A curl correcting apparatus includes rollers, a motor, and a clutch portion. The rollers are curl correction-use rollers which are arranged in parallel to each other in a pressure-contact state and which are different in hardness. The motor is a motor capable of rotating in forward and reverse directions relative to a correction-amount adjusting portion that changes and adjusts a distance to the rollers as a result of an eccentric cam that integrally rotates in accordance with a rotation amount of a rotation shaft, pressing against the rollers. The clutch portion transmits a rotary driving force of the motor to the rollers during the forward rotation and to a rotation shaft during the reverse rotation.

Curl correcting apparatus and image forming apparatus

In a registration step, the temperature near a polygon mirror () is detected by a first temperature sensor (), and the internal ambient temperature of an image forming apparatus () is detected by a second temperature sensor (). Also, a registration adjustment value of each color is determined and stored in a memory (). In a printing step, the registration adjustment value (A) of each color determined in the registration step is corrected based on a change in the temperature near the polygon mirror () and a change in the internal ambient temperature of the image forming apparatus (). Furthermore, the write timing of an electrostatic latent image onto each photosensitive drum () by an optical scanning device () is controlled. Then, the position of the electrostatic latent image on each photosensitive drum () is shifted by an amount corresponding to the corrected registration adjustment value.
