A stator includes a core having a plurality of slots and a plurality of U-shaped conductors, which are inserted in the corresponding slots. Each of the conductors has a pair of legs and a joint portion that connects the legs together. Each slot receives four legs and each of the legs in the slot is one leg of the corresponding one of the conductors. Two of the four conductors corresponding to the four legs inserted in each slot are overlapped with each other at the joint portions as viewed at least circumferentially.

A rotor of a motor includes a cylindrical rotor shaft that is formed through plastic working. The shaft includes a positioning portion that is formed in an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical shaft by the plastic working of the shaft. The positioning portion is detachably engageable with a securing member, which is insertable into the shaft in an axial direction of the shaft to position the shaft in a circumferential direction. When the positioning portion is engaged with the securing member, relative rotation between the shaft and the securing member is limited.

A driving-side rotator of a clutch has a connecting hole, within which a connecting portion of a rotatable shaft is loosely fitted while providing a space between the connecting hole and the connection portion. A yoke in a motor includes a cylindrical yoke housing having a closed end and two magnets that is located in the yoke housing. The magnets are fixed to the yoke housing with adhesive. The adhesive is applied a at least to each adhering area of the yoke housing that is to be adhered to the corresponding magnet or to an adhering area of the each magnet that is to be adhered to the yoke housing. The adhesive is spread to the adhering areas of the yoke housing and each magnet by sliding the adhering areas on each other. Therefore, the magnets are firmly fixed to the yoke housing with a small amount of adhesive.
