A camera in use with a photographic film in a cartridge. The camera includes: a cartridge chamber for accommodating the cartridge, in which the cartridge includes a spool and a bar code disk; a regulation member for regulating a location of the spool in the cartridge chamber; a regulation member release for releasing a regulation of the location of the spool by the regulation member; a driving shaft for being coupled with the spool to rotate it; a generator circuit for generating reference pulse signals which correspond to a rotation cycle of the spool; a bar code reader for reading a bar code on the bar code disk in rotation so as to obtain film information respectively from each unit block of the bar code; and a controller for controlling the bar code reader in synchronism with the reference pulse signals so as to obtain the film information when the driving shaft is coupled with the spool and the photographic film is being loaded to a photographic position where a first frame of the photographic film is subjected for picture taking with the camera.

Camera for use with photographic film in a cartridge

A camera for reading film information expressed with a bar code, which is provided on a bar code plate being rotatable with a spool of a film cartridge, through a window of the film cartridge. The camera includes: a driver for rotating the spool; an optical reading device for reading the bar code, and for generating a bar code information including the film information; a detecting circuit for detecting a reference position of the bar code according to the bar code information, and a memory device for storing the bar code information being read by the optical reading device. In the camera, the driver rotates the spool in a film rewinding direction after a film in the film cartridge is rewound so that the detector circuit detects the reference position of the bar code according to the bar code information stored in the memory device, and the driver rotates the spool according to the reference position so as to locate a bar code portion corresponding to exposed state of the film. The camera further includes a release pin for releasing a spool locking mechanism which cannot be inadvertently released during the cartridge loading or cartridge removal.

A camera having a trimming function capable of recording trimming information includes a lens barrel having a picture-taking lens capable of moving between protruding and retracting positions, a lens barrel driver to drive the lens barrel, a zoom viewfinder driver to change a magnification of the viewfinder, a film winder to winding a photographic film, a film rewinder to rewind the film, a motor to feed the film. The camera further includes a driver to drive the film winder when the motor is forwardly rotated, and also to drive the film rewinder or the zoom viewfinder driver when the motor is reversely rotated, and a switch to switch over between the zoom viewfinder driver and the film rewinder in accordance with a position of the lens barrel. The camera yet further includes a controller to activate the film rewinder by the reverse rotation of the motor when the lens barrel is located in a retracting position, and also to activating the zoom viewfinder driver by the reverse rotation of the motor when the lens barrel is located in a protruding position.

Camera having trimming function

A camera for reading film information expressed with a bar code, which is provided on a bar code plate being rotatable with a spool of a film cartridge, through a window of the film cartridge. The camera includes: a driver for rotating the spool; an optical reading device for reading the bar code, and for generating a bar code information including the film information; a detecting circuit for detecting a reference position of the bar code according to the bar code information; and a memory device for storing the bar code information being read by the optical reading device. In the camera, the driver starts rotating the spool in a film rewinding direction when the film cartridge is set in the camera and before a film in the film cartridge is loaded to a photographing position so that the optical reading device reads the bar code information, the detecting circuit detects the reference position, and the memory device stores the bar code information.

Camera with a bar code reading apparatus

A photographic roll film cartridge in which a roll film is stored in an initial packaged condition before being used for photographing. In the initial packaged condition, the leading edge portion of the roll film protrudes out of the cartridge by a length of 10 mm to 25 mm.

Photographic film package

A camera for accommodating a film cartridge which includes a film being rolled on the axis in a lightproof condition. The camera includes; a cartridge chamber for receiving the film cartridge in the axial direction; an ejecting member for ejecting the film cartridge which is placed in the cartridge chamber; and a positioning member for positioning the film cartridge at a fixed position in the cartridge chamber; wherein the positioning member includes an engaging claw which is interchangeable between a first condition that the engaging claw is movable by a pressing force of the film cartridge while the film cartridge is inserted into the cartridge chamber by an operator, and a second condition, after insertion of the film cartridge into the cartridge chamber is completed, that the engaging claw is pushed by a spring member so that the engaging claw engages with a side end of the film cartridge.

Easy-film-loading camera

A display device in a real image type viewfinder includes an optical member having an image formation surface thereon, which is provided between an objective lens and an eyepiece. An object image is formed by the objective lens on the image formation surface. A display section in a view field frame to display the view field frame is provided when an inclined surface portion is formed in a direction in which a peripheral portion of the image formation surface of the optical member is protruded with respect to the image formation surface.

Display device in view-finder

A zoom camera being capable of changing a distance measuring direction to measure an object distance, and more particularly a camera which indicates the distance measuring direction overlapped on an object image in a view finder display. An object image is displayed in a finder display through an optical system, thereby the magnification of the object image in the view finder changes in accordance with a zooming of the camera. An indicator array is arranged on the view finder display, and the distance measuring direction is indicated by an activation of an indicator element of the indicator array located at a corresponding position to an object position in the distance measuring direction. For the purpose of coordinating with the change of magnification of the view image, the corresponding position is determined based on the focal length information obtained by a focal length detector in addition to distance measuring direction information and distance information, each obtained by each of a direction detector and a distance detector.
