A breathing system in a combustion engine includes an air cleaner () for purifying air to be supplied to the engine. The air cleaner () includes a cleaner casing () having a blow-by gas inlet port () and an intake air discharge port (). The breathing system also includes a breather passage () having first and second breather passage portions. The first breather passage portion is fluidly connected with the inlet port () for communicating a crank chamber () to a portion of an interior of the air cleaner () downstream of the cleaner element (). The second breather passage portion fluidly connects the blow-by gas inlet port () and the intake air discharge port () and has a drain hole () for draining into the cleaner casing () a water component, separated from a blow-by gas (G) flowing through the breather passage ().

Breathing system in combustion engine

To provide an internal combustion engine of a vertical shaft type, in which leakage of an oil from a crankcase and an oil pan is effectively prevented, which has high mounting rigidity relative to a working machine and, also, which is capable of being easily serviced, the combustion engine includes a vertically extending crankshaft () having a pair of upper and lower crank webs (A andB), a crankcase () accommodating the crankshaft () and including an oil pan (), and a crankcase cover () mounted on an upper surface () of the crankcase () to cover the crankcase (). A V-type 2-cylinder engine capable of distributing air-fuel mixtures equally to each cylinder, having a fuel injection device compact in its arrangement by making effective use of a V-space between the cylinders, and having an improved assembly performance and low manufacturing cost. In the V-type 2-cylinder engine having a V-space between two cylinders, there are arranged fuel injectors disposed in the cylinders, respectively, and a common fuel pressure adjustor for adjusting the pressures of fuels to be fed to the fuel injectors. An injection fuel introduction portion of a fuel passage is formed in a throttle body forming a section of intake passages and having throttle valves. A water-cooled V-type engine includes: a crankcase in which a crankshaft is rotatably disposed; two cylinders disposed on the crankcase so as to form V-shape; a starter disposed below one of the two cylinders; and a cooling system for cooling the engine with a cooling water. The cooling system includes: a radiator for cooling the cooling water; water jackets disposed on the two cylinders; and a thermostat disposed in a supply line having one end connected to a water outlet formed in a lower end part of the radiator and the other end connected to inlets of the water jackets. The thermostat is disposed below the other of the two cylinders. The engine can be formed in compact construction and the piping of the cooling system can be simplified since the starter and the thermostat are disposed below the tilted cylinders, respectively.

A method of fitting a grip over a handle portion of a handlebar includes providing the grip with an integral lip directed radially inwardly along the entire front edge at the open end of the grip. The grip is fitted over the forward end portion of the handle portion to define a sealed chamber between the inner surface of the grip and the outer surface of the handle portion. Air is injected into the chamber to expand the grip which is then moved over the handle portion. Thereafter the air is withdrawn so that the grip contracts into intimate contact with the handle grip to be adhesively secured thereto.

An automatic compression releasing device intended for reducing the pressure inside the combustion chamber of the four cycle engine at the start by opening and closing the intake or exhaust valve of the combustion chamber actuated by the cam on the cam shaft through the tappet. A single moving piece mounted, on the side of the gear integrated with the cam shaft, as enclosing the cam shaft, can slide over the side of the gear in a given direction, guided by two slots opened in the moving piece and two pins planted on the gear side. A tappet lifting arm is extended from the moving piece to such a position as to push up the tappet. At the start, the centrifugal force on the moving piece is designed not to exceed the opposing force, thus keeping the tappet lifting arm projected out of the cam base circle, and also retaining the returning force of the moving piece acting on the tappet lifting arm through the tappet being supported by the guide slots and pins. During the normal rpm, the centrifugal force on the moving piece overcomes aforesaid opposing force to slide the moving piece along said guide slots, bringing the tappet lifting arm level with or further down into the cam base circle.

Automatic compression releasing device for four-cycle engine

A water jet propulsion system for watercraft having an impeller, especially a conical oblique flow impeller with an increased outer diameter in going toward the downstream side. The impeller is secured to a transmission shaft which is journalled by bearings in a hub of fixed blades and formed at its end portion with spline grooves being able to fit in spline strips formed at the forward end portion of a drive shaft. This allows a pump portion of the water jet propulsion system to be assembled outside the watercraft and separately therefrom, so that positioning of the impeller with respect to its duct can be effected with a high degree of accuracy.

A small watercraft having a float on either side of its hull pivotally connected thereto for rotation about a shaft mounted parallel to the direction of movement of the watercraft between a horizontal operative position and a vertical inoperative position taken when the watercraft is stowed away. The floats can be locked in these two positions and in any position as desired between these two positions. Each float is substantially triangular in planar configuration and diverges in going toward the stern of the watercraft. When the watercraft is stationary on the water, the forward end of each float is exposed from the surface of the water; and when the watercraft is planing, each float is exposed in its entirety on the surface of the water.
