A heat exchanger includes flat sheet shaped partition members, and spacing members alternately stacked with the partition members to keep a space between an adjacent pair of the partition members. Each of the partition members is sandwiched between a first passage and a second passage alternately formed. Each of the spacing members has a frame portion formed along a periphery of the partition members. Each frame portion includes a ridge formed on one surface of the frame portion, and an elongated recess formed on an other surface of the frame portion. The ridge of one of an adjacent pair of the spacing members fits into the elongated recess of the other spacing member. Each of the partition members is sandwiched between the ridge of one of a pair of the spacing members adjacent to the partition member and the elongated recess of the other spacing member.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger includes partition members, alternately stacked spacing members, and seals. The spacing members include first and second spacing members forming the first and second passages. The first and second spacing members each have a frame portion along a periphery of the partition members. The frame portion of the first and second spacing members have first and second communication sections having first and second communication openings allowing the first and second passages to communicate with outside of the frame portion, and first and second partition walls separating the first and second passages from the outside of the frame portion. The frame portions of the first and second spacing members further have first and second notches provided in portions of the first and second partition walls, and open on an outer side surface of the first and second partition walls. The seals cover surfaces of the first and second notches.

Heat exchanger and method for manufacturing heat exchanger

A method uses a sheet shaped member to separate two spaces from each other. The sheet shaped member includes a base having a first principal surface and a second principal surface, and a moisture permeable membrane provided on or close to the first principal surface of the base. The first principal surface of the base is arranged in one of the two spaces having a lower water vapor pressure when the two spaces separated from each other by the sheet-like member have different water vapor pressures.
