The lens enlarges an image displayed on the display section and presents the enlarged image to a user. A PC generates an image of a virtual space. A related ID information retaining unit relates and stores IDs of game titles related to each other. A game data storage unit stores saved data with a title ID. An input data is divided into blocks of predetermined time units and then further divided into a plurality of bands. Each band is coded and compressed to prepare a basic sub-block essential for data reproduction and a plurality of extension sub-blocks contributing to improvement of the quality of the reproduced data. A transmission timing during streaming delivery, remaining extension sub-blocks are delivered if the time period is still within a time period for delivering the same data block, but the remaining extension sub-blocks are not delivered and delivery of the basic sub-block of the subsequent data block begins if the delivery timing for the subsequent data block has arrived. In this way, a stable streaming delivery is achieved by a scalable data compression.

A processing load at the time of playing back sound data having a loop part is reduced. A sound data encoding apparatus comprises a block dividing means that divides the sound data into blocks according to predetermined rules, and an encoding means that encodes the blocks in groups of a plurality of consecutive blocks. The block dividing means divides the sound data such that, when encoded blocks encoded by the encoding means are decoded to output decoded blocks, then the loop end position in a block that includes the loop end position in the decoded blocks is nearer to an end of the block than a predetermined position. In detail, input delay dummy data are added ahead of the sound data before dividing the sound data. At the time of outputting the encoded data, loop information is outputted also. The loop information includes the number of samples of the added input delay dummy data, the number of samples corresponding to the encoding delay, the number of samples corresponding to the decoding delay, the start and end positions of the sound data, and the loop start and end positions.

Tone quality is improved at the time of playing back sound data having a loop part. A sound data encoding apparatus encodes sound data in groups of a plurality of consecutive blocks. In the case where the sound start position is equal to the loop start position, encoding is performed using samples of sound data (for example, sound data just before the loop end) relating to the sound data at the sound start position from the viewpoint of music. In the case where the sound end position is equal to the loop end position, encoding is performed using samples of sound data (for example, sound data just after the loop start) relating to the sound data at the sound end position from the viewpoint of music.
