An exemplary fuel cell ship is a fuel cell ship for propelling a hull by using electric power supplied from a fuel cell that generates electric power through an electrochemical reaction of fuel, and includes a compartment including an emission source of the fuel and a first detector arranged in the compartment to detect the fuel. If the first detector detects that a concentration of the fuel in the compartment is equal to or greater than a first threshold value, a power supply to a non-explosion-proof device in the compartment is stopped.

Fuel cell ship

An exemplary fuel cell ship is a fuel cell ship for propelling a hull by using electric power supplied from a fuel cell that generates electric power through an electrochemical reaction of fuel, and includes a plurality of compartments including an emission source of the fuel, in which the plurality of compartments include a tank compartment installed therein with a fuel tank that stores the fuel and a fuel cell compartment installed therein with the fuel cell. The tank compartment and the fuel cell compartment are each sealed except for a ventilation port through which the inside of the compartment is ventilated.

A fuel cell ship includes a cooling system that cools a fuel cell. The cooling system includes a cooling medium tank that accommodates a cooling medium, a cooling medium circulation pipe that circulates the cooling medium between the fuel cell and the cooling medium tank, a cooling tank internal gas detector installed in the cooling medium tank, a cooling tank internal gas discharge pipe connected to the cooling medium tank, and a cooling tank internal gas discharge valve installed in the cooling tank internal gas discharge pipe. The fuel cell ship includes a control unit that controls opening and closing of the cooling tank internal gas discharge valve. The control unit opens the cooling tank internal gas discharge valve when the cooling tank internal gas detector detects that the concentration of the fuel gas in the cooling medium tank is equal to or greater than a specified value determined in advance.

A fuel cell ship includes a fuel cell compartment in which a fuel cell is installed, a tank compartment in which a fuel tank is installed, a fuel supply pipe through which fuel is supplied from the fuel tank to the fuel cell, and a control unit. The fuel supply pipe includes at least two shutoff valves. Fuel gas detectors that detect a fuel gas being in a gaseous state of the fuel are each installed in the compartments. If at least one of the fuel gas detectors detects that a concentration of the fuel gas is equal to or greater than a predetermined standard value, the control unit controls to close a shutoff valve in a compartment out of the tank compartment and the fuel cell compartment, where the fuel gas detector having detected the concentration equal to or greater than the standard value is installed.

A fuel cell ship includes a fuel cell that generates electric power by an electrochemical reaction of fuel, a propulsion device that generates propulsive force on a hull by electric power supplied from the fuel cell, a fuel supply pipe through which the fuel is supplied from a fuel tank housing the fuel to the fuel cell, a duct compartment that houses a part of the fuel supply pipe, a vent pipe that communicates with the duct compartment, and a fuel filling port that serves as an inlet for filling the fuel tank with the fuel. The fuel filling port is provided in the duct compartment.

A fuel cell ship includes a propulsion device that generates propulsive force on a hull by electric power, an electric power supply unit that supplies the electric power to the propulsion device, and a degradation rate control unit that adjusts a degradation rate. The electric power supply unit includes a plurality of fuel cells that generate electric power by an electrochemical reaction of fuel and at least one storage battery.

A method for operating a fuel cell system including a fuel feeder supplying fuel, a reformer producing a hydrogen-containing gas by a reforming reaction, a fuel cell which includes a cathode and an anode, a combustor which combusts an anode off-gas discharged from the anode to produce a combustion gas, a temperature detector detecting the temperature of the combustion gas, and a storage device storing a preset target temperature profile, the target temperature profile including the temporal change in target temperature of the combustion gas in the operation of the fuel cell system, includes controlling the flow rate of the fuel supplied from the fuel feeder to the reformer in the operation such that the temperature detected by the temperature detector becomes equal to a target temperature determined on the basis of the target temperature profile.

Method for operating fuel cell system and method for estimating composition of fuel used in fuel cell system

The present invention provides a fuel cell system using combustion heat for an evaporator and a desulfurizer effectively. The fuel cell system comprises a combustor, a reformer, a fuel cell, a first cathode air heating part, a desulfurizer and an evaporator. A mixture of oxygen and gas which is contained in fuel is combusted in the combustor. A combustion exhaust gas generated in the combustor flows in the fuel cell system in such a manner that the combustion exhaust gas gives thermal energy to the reformer, the first cathode air heating part, the desulfurizer, and the evaporator in this order.

A fuel cell system including a fuel cell; a cathode air heat exchanger configured to perform heat exchange between a cathode exhaust gas and the air to be supplied to the cathode to transfer a part of heat energy of the cathode exhaust gas to the air; a desulfurization unit configured to remove a sulfur component from a raw material supplied to the desulfurization unit; and a reformer configured to generate a reformed gas which is the fuel from steam and the raw material from which the sulfur component has been removed by the desulfurization unit; and the cathode exhaust gas which has lost a part of the heat energy by the heat exchange in at least the cathode air heat exchanger, is supplied to the desulfurization unit, to heat the desulfurization unit by the heat energy of the cathode exhaust gas.
