A stroke information measurement device and a stroke information measurement method, by which stroke information, such as the stroke time, stroke length, etc., of a swimming swimmer can be measured accurately and immediately, are provided. This invention's stroke information measurement deviceis characterized in comprising: an image pickup means, capturing images of a swimming swimmer and outputting the image data of predetermined intervals; a front end detection means, detecting a front end in the direction of progress of the swimmer from an image of the body of the swimmer in each image data; and a stroke point detection part, detecting, from among the front ends, the front end at the timing when the swimmer is in a predetermined position in each stroke.

Stroke information measuring apparatus and stroke information measuring method

In a stride measuring apparatus, a signal wave emitter and a signal wave detector are opposed to each other in a direction intersecting with a predetermined direction in which the running surface is driven. The signal wave emitter emits a light beam. The signal wave detector outputs an ON signal when receiving the light beam, and outputs an OFF signal when the light beam is intercepted. A detector part calculates a moving speed on the basis of a difference between a fall time and a rise time of one OFF signal out of two OFF signals outputted in succession from the signal wave detector, and a foot size of a subject. The detector part calculates a difference between output times of the two OFF signals (stride time) and calculates a stride on the basis of a product of the moving speed and the stride time.

A stroke information measuring device according to the present invention comprises an imaging sectioncapturing image data of every predetermined time of a swimmer who is swimming, a pixel extracting sectionextracting pixels corresponding to the body image, a profile data generating sectionperforming the integration of the body image in a predetermined direction and generating the profile data, an end point extracting sectionextracting the end point of each profile data, a stroke point extracting sectionextracting the stroke point corresponding to the predetermined posture of the swimmer based on the periodic movement of each end point, and a calculating sectioncalculating the stroke information based on the stroke point.

A mastication monitoring deviceis provided with a probewhich is attached to a cheek in order to detect the concentration of reduced hemoglobin in the masticatory muscles. A photodetectorof the probedetects light scattered in the masticatory muscles and delivers a signal of the amount of light received to a signal processing unit. The signal processing unitcomputes the reduced hemoglobin concentrations (time-series changes) from the signals of the amount of light received, and further computes outputs S (time-series changes) corresponding to the time-series changes in the reduced hemoglobin concentrations. A mastication iteration counting unitdetects peaks in periodical changes of Sd which is the difference between the output S and the moving average value Sma of the output S and counts the peaks in periodical changes of Sd as the mastication iterations.

A muscular strength estimation device according to the present invention comprises load supply means for applying a prescribed exercise load to a subject; oxygen saturation measuring means for measuring, while the exercise load is being applied to the subject, the oxygen saturation in the blood circulating through the muscle to which the exercise load is applied; minimum value detection means for detecting the oxygen saturation minimum value during measurement; recording means for recording in advance a correlation table showing the correlation between the subject's oxygen saturation and muscular strength; and calculation means for calculating the muscular strength corresponding to the oxygen saturation minimum value, from the correlation table.

A light irradiating section irradiates a muscle used for occlusion of teeth, with light, and a light detecting section detects scattered light from the muscle. An oxygen saturation acquiring section acquires an oxygen saturation of the muscle, based on the scattered light thus detected. Further, based on correlation data between oxygen saturation and occlusal force stored in a correlation data storing section, an occlusal force calculating section calculates the occlusal force of the subject corresponding to the oxygen saturation acquired.

New types of devices for measuring two-dimensional photon-caused or corpuscular-ray-caused image signals by means of a special television imaging technology suitable for an extremely low level of incident visible light, infra-red, ultra-violet, X-rays, .gamma.-rays, protons or neutrons are disclosed. These image signals are sensed by an electron emitting layer, i.e., a photoelectric emitter or a secondary electron emitter, which can respond to photons or corpuscular rays, and then amplified by a micro-channel-plate which can multiply the emitted electrons to a finite number with their positional relationships remaining in the two-dimensional area. The amplified signals are digitally processed to be displayed on a television picture monitor. The image signals on the television picture monitor can be printed out or saved in magnetic media.
