A compressor includes a closed container housing a compression element driven by the shaft of a motor. The compression element includes a first and second bearings supporting first and second shaft portions, and at least one cylinder having at least one cylinder chamber disposed between the first and second bearings. At least one roller is fitted to the shaft in the at least one cylinder chamber. The first bearing is disposed closer to the motor than the second bearing. The first and second bearings have first and second annular grooves opened to the at least one cylinder chamber and first and second elastic portions provided in first and second opposing surfaces, respectively. A diameter of the second shaft portion is smaller than a diameter of the first shaft portion. A rigidity of the second elastic portion is smaller than a rigidity of the first elastic portion.

Compressor

A compressor includes a closed container, a compression element disposed in the closed container, and a motor disposed in the closed container to drive the compression element via a shaft. The compression element includes a first and second bearings supporting the shaft. At least one cylinder having at least one cylinder chamber is disposed between the first and second bearings, with at least one roller fitted to the shaft disposed in the at least one cylinder chamber. The first bearing is disposed closer to the motor than the second bearing. The first and second bearings have first and second annular grooves formed in first and second opposing surfaces opposed to end faces of the at least one roller. The first and second annular grooves are opened to the at least one cylinder chamber. A width of the second annular groove is larger than a width of the first annular groove.

A rotary compressor includes a drive mechanism having a drive shaft with an eccentric part, and a compression mechanism. The compression mechanism includes a tubular cylinder covering an outer periphery of the eccentric part, a piston arranged inside the cylinder and fitted onto the eccentric part, an upper end plate closing an upper end of the cylinder, and a lower end plate closing a lower end of the cylinder. A lower end surface of the eccentric part defines a thrust bearing surface slidably contacting an upper end surface of the lower end plate. The drive shaft has an oil path with lubrication oil circulating through the oil path. The eccentric part has a circumferentially extending pressure reduction groove opening at part of the thrust bearing surface close to an inner circumferential side to reduce a pressure of the lubrication oil supplied from the oil path to the pressure reduction groove.

A compressor includes a closed container and a compression element that are welded together at least three welding points. The closed container has a suction port with a suction tube fitted to the suction port of the closed container with the suction tube being arranged and configured to suck a refrigerant gas, and the suction tube has a central axis that lies in a plane which is orthogonal to the central axis of the closed container and that passes through the suction port. The welding points are arranged such that straight lines connecting all combinations of any two of the welding points are neither parallel to the central axis of the suction tube nor perpendicular to the central axis of the suction tube, to reduce vibrations of the suction tube that occur when vibrations of the motor are transmitted to the closed container.

A sealing is arranged between a rear head having an ejection port configured and arranged to eject compressed refrigerant and a rear muffler disposed so that a muffler space is formed between the rear muffler and the rear head. The rear head includes a main body having a bearing hole, an annular boss portion protruding from the main body and circumscribing the bearing hole, and an annular side wall protruding from the main body and circumscribing the boss portion. The rear muffler has an opening and is fastened to the end surface of the side wall so that the peripheral portion of the opening contacts the end surface of the boss portion. Preferably, the end surface of the boss portion has a part entirely further from the main body than the end surface of the side wall.

Sealing structure and compressor

A stagnation space defined by barriers is provided in a first muffler chamber communicating with a first cylinder chamber. The stagnation space overlaps with a refrigerant-gas inlet side of the first cylinder chamber, the inlet side being bordered by a center plane as viewed in a direction of a center axis of the first cylinder chamber. In the first muffler chamber, the high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant gas is unlikely to enter into the stagnation space, so that heat is less absorbed to the inlet side of the first cylinder chamber.

Rotary compressor

A compressor includes a closed container and a compression element welded together at least three, preferably six, welding points. A suction tube for sucking refrigerant gas is attached to the closed container. A first direction and a second direction that are associated with a natural vibration mode of the suction tube do not coincide with a direction in which any two of the welding points are aligned. Accordingly, vibration of the suction tube can be reduced by arrangement of the welding points even if vibration of a motor is transmitted to the compression element.

A compressor includes a first muffler chamber communicating with a first cylinder chamber, and a second muffler chamber communicating with a second cylinder chamber. The first muffler chamber and the second muffler chamber are communicated with each other by a gas passage. The gas passage is communicated with a Helmholtz type resonance chamber by a connecting passage. The connecting passage is connected to a lowermost end of the resonance chamber. Therefore, oil contained in the refrigerant gas, even if having entered into the resonance chamber, is discharged through the connecting passage located at the lowermost end of the resonance chamber to outside of the resonance chamber. Thus, since oil is not accumulated in the resonance chamber, the resonance chamber keeps generally constant in capacity at all times.

A muffler cover of a compression element has discharge outlets or hole portions that discharge a compressed refrigerant gas into a closed vessel from a compression element. A suction pipe provides refrigerant gas, which can be sucked into the compression element in the closed vessel. The suction pipe is attached to the closed vessel. A first direction and a second direction, which correspond to natural vibration modes of the suction pipe, do not coincide with a direction that connects two hole portions. Therefore, even if the refrigerant gas discharged from the compression element resonates in the closed vessel, vibrations of the suction pipe can be reduced.

A rotary compressor includes a cylinder body, end plate members fitted on both sides of the cylinder body, a roller placed in a cylinder chamber, a blade fitted to the roller, and a bushing for supporting the blade. A width of the bushing in a roller axis direction is larger than an axial width of the roller. A gap in the roller axis direction between the roller and the end plate members is larger than a gap in the roller axis direction between the bushing and the end plate members.
