An information processing system includes a client terminal and an information processing apparatus configured to cause an image forming apparatus to perform printing in accordance with print data. The client terminal includes processing circuitry configured to acquire address information of the client terminal on a network; transmit identification information for identifying the client terminal and the address information to the information processing apparatus; and receive a notification transmitted from the information processing apparatus based on the identification information included in the print data. The information processing apparatus includes processing circuitry configured to register the identification information and the address information; extract the identification information from the print data; and transmit the notification in accordance with the address information.

An information processing apparatus includes: circuitry configured to detect whether or not a print job is caused to be stuck in a printer queue where printer jobs are to be stored, the print job containing attribute information and data to be printed, the attribute information containing a printing condition; when detecting that the print job is stuck in the printer queue, specify user information, by which a user that has requested printing is identified; and provide information for use in processing to be performed by a user process, the user process being one, the one being associated with the specified user information, of a plurality of user processes that are in a one-to-one correspondence with a plurality of currently-logged-in users.

Managing print job associated processing by user processes associated with separate logged-in users of an information processing apparatus

A screen generating method is implemented on a distribution managing system in which an image forming apparatus, a managing server, and a client device are connected. In the screen generating method, the client device receives input for designating an item for setting metadata on a generating screen; generates definition data of an input screen on which the metadata is set based on a descriptor that is arbitrary determined by a user for displaying the item on the input screen and the item designated on the generating screen; and transmits the definition data to the image forming apparatus.
