An in-vehicle handsfree apparatus stores a mail operation state while a message access profile (MAP) is being connected with a cellular phone. An incoming voice call from a communication network arises in the cellular phone while the in-vehicle handsfree apparatus is receiving mail information from the cellular phone. When the cellular phone answers the incoming voice call, the MAP is disconnected from the cellular phone. After completing the handsfree call relative to the incoming voice call, the reception of the mail information is resumed from the state just before the MAP was once disconnected.

In-vehicle apparatus having handsfree function

An in-vehicle handsfree apparatus establishes a handsfree profile connection with at least two cellular phones. It may be determined that a first cellular phone and a second cellular phone are receiving incoming calls at the same time, or that while a first cellular phone is calling, a second cellular phone is receiving an incoming call. In such a case, based on attributes (for example, a holder or intended use) of the first and second cellular phones, a notice manner of information on incoming call or information on telephone call is differentiated, for instance, in regard to a background color of a display window.

In-vehicle handsfree apparatus

An in-vehicle handsfree apparatus is disclosed. The in-vehicle handsfree apparatus includes a handsfree connection section and a control section. The connection section establishes connection with first and second cellular phones by using a handsfree communication protocol. When the control section determines that the first and second cellular phones are respectively receiving incoming calls at a same time, the control section causes an display unit to distinctly display information associated with the incoming call of the first cellular phone and information associated with the incoming call of the second cellular phone.

A handsfree system includes a handsfree apparatus and a phone. The handsfree apparatus has a database including a primary control program and a model-specific program. The primary control program enables the handsfree phone call when coupled with the phone. The model-specific program is operated to resolve a model-dependent constraint by being incorporated in the primary control program. The model-dependent constraint arises when coupled with the phone. The model-specific program is associated with phone model information and program specification information to specify the model-specific program independent of the phone model information. Phone model information and program specification information are acquired from a phone coupled with the handsfree apparatus. Model-specific program corresponding to the acquired program specification information is retrieved from the database when the acquired phone model information is not included in the database. The retrieved model-specific program is executed by incorporating in the primary control program.

Handsfree apparatus and handsfree system

An electronic control unit includes a first microprocessor monitoring the operation of a second microprocessor and has a monitoring operation blocking unit for preventing the second microprocessor from being reset by the first microprocessor while the second microprocessor is loading from a memory thereof so that even when a control program is loaded into the monitoring microprocessor before one is loaded into the monitored microprocessor, the control program can be loaded with certainty. Each microprocessor executes a control program stored in the memory, and when a predetermined reloading condition has been established, executes a loading process for receiving load data transmitted thereto from outside into the memory. The microprocessors use the same single communication line to conduct communication with the outside and the electronic control unit further includes a communication operation controlling unit for, when one of the microprocessors is loading, prohibiting the other microprocessors from transmitting data to the communication line. In this way, it is possible to reload a control program and control data into any of the microprocessors without the data being destroyed by data from the other microprocessors.

Electronic control unit

An electronic control unit has a microprocessor having a nonvolatile memory which is electrically reloadable. Data, with a predetermined loading voltage, is supplied as a condition. The microprocessor controls an object of control during normal operation by executing a control program made up of data stored in the nonvolatile memory. When a predetermined reloading condition has been established, the microprocessor carries out a loading process for loading load data, transmitted thereto from outside the nonvolatile memory, as an update. Along with executing the control program, a monitor signal is generated at predetermined time intervals indicating normal. A system monitoring circuit is also provided for monitoring the monitor signal outputted from the microprocessor. As such, when the monitor signal is not outputted within a predetermined time, a reset signal for resetting the microprocessor is sent to the microprocessor. A blocking circuit is provided for detecting whether the loading voltage is being supplied to the nonvolatile memory and preventing the microprocessor from being reset by the system monitoring circuit when the loading voltage is being supplied.
