A vehicular headlamp has a projection lens having an optical axis extending in a front-back direction, a light source disposed behind a rear side focal point of the projection lens, a reflector that reflects direct light from the light source toward the projection lens, a shade disposed between the projection lens and the light source, and that partially blocks light reflected from the reflector and to form a cut-off line of a light distribution pattern, a first reflective surface disposed in front of the reflector, that partially reflects direct light from the light source downward to the a front of the shade, and a second reflective surface disposed in front of the shade and lower than the rear side focal point of the projection lens, that reflects the light reflected from the first reflective surface toward the projection lens.

Vehicular headlamp

A vehicular headlamp has a projection lens, a light source disposed behind a rear focal point of the projection lens, and a reflector that reflects light from the light source forward. The vehicular headlamp forms a forward light distribution pattern. The vehicular headlamp includes a plate-like shade having a front-end portion positioned in the vicinity of the rear focal point of the projection lens to form a cut-off line of the forward light distribution pattern. The shade extends rearward and obliquely downward from the front-end portion. An overhead sign reflective surface is provided on a lower surface of the shade. The overhead sign reflective surface reflects light from the reflector toward the projection lens to form a part of an overhead sign distribution pattern. A dark portion forming portion is formed on the overhead sign reflective surface.

A vehicle lamp is provided with: a projection lens; a light source; a reflector that reflects light from the light source to the projection lens; and a shade member. A shade member includes an opening, and a portion of an inner peripheral edge of the opening is defined by an upper edge of a shading part for shielding a portion of the light reflected on the reflector. A side end portion of a reflection surface of the reflector penetrates the opening of the shade member and extends forward beyond the shading part.

Vehicle headlamp

A vehicular lamp includes a projection lens with an optical axis extending in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle and a light source with a light emission portion. The light emission portion is directly incident to the projection lens. The projection lens has a plurality of lens areas with different focal points, with the lens areas centered on the optical axis and disposed on generally concentric circles. The focal points corresponding to the plurality of lens areas have respectively different positions on the optical axis.

Vehicular lamp

A headlamp for vehicle use is provided with: a light source bulb having a light source from which light is emergent; a reflector for reflecting light emergent from the light source; a sub-reflector for reflecting light, which has been reflected on the reflector, to the front side; and a projection lens for directly projecting light of the light source to the front side. These components are arranged in a light chamber composed of a lamp body and a lens cover.

Front viewability during turning may be enhanced by a headlamp device for a vehicle arranged to perform swivel control. The headlamp device is arranged so that when a vehicleis turning around a right curve with low beam, the vehicle velocity V and the estimated horizontal G value are used to calculate the curve turning radius R, which is then used together with the vehicle velocity R to calculate the driver viewing point angle &#x3b8; to which the leftward deviation &#x3b2; of the highest light intensity position in the light distribution pattern PL for low beam is added to calculate the target swivel angle &#x3b1; on the basis of which the lighting fixture unit of the headlampR is swung over the target swivel angle &#x3b1; so that light beam is emitted toward a region surrounding the driver viewing point EP on the road ahead of the vehicle in the forward direction. In this arrangement, the driver viewing point angle &#x3b8; can be calculated using only from the vehicle velocity data as a parameter without using steering angle data, making it possible to simplify the operation for swivel control and to eliminate the need to use a steering angle sensor.
