Blow-molded foam and process for producing the same

An object of the invention is to provide a blow-molded foam which has homogeneous foamed cells in size, is light in weight, and is excellent in surface smoothness, and a process for producing the same. The invention is directed to a blow-molded foamhaving a wall portion formed in such a manner that a thermoplastic resin containing a foaming agent mixed therewith is subjected to blow molding. Herein, the wall portion has a closed cell structure in which a plurality of foamed cells are contained. The wall portion has an expansion ratio of not less than 2.0 times. The wall portion has an outer face having a center-line average surface roughness Ra of less than 9.0 &#x3bc;m. The foamed cell has a cell diameter having a standard deviation of less than 40 &#x3bc;m in a thickness direction of the wall portion.

Blow-molded foam

A molding method of a resin molded product in which it is possible to increase the welding strength between the core member and the resin sheets. In a molding method of a resin molded product in which a core member including a foaming element is interposed between at least two resin sheets in a melted state into a laminated product, wherein the resin sheets include fibrous filler, and while melting surfaces of the core member by heat of the resin sheets, the core member and the resin sheets are welded onto each other, and the core member and the resin sheets are clamped by a metallic mold, to mold the resin molded product.

Resin panel and forming method

A skinned panel for stably molding a thin skin material and a molding method thereof. An extruding device is configured to extrude a pair of multilayered resin sheets, each of which has a lamination structure of an inner layer made of a foamed resin and an outer layer made of a non-foamed resin that is changed into a skin material of a sandwich panel as a skinned panel. The pair of the resin sheets is abutted to the circumferential part of the pair of the split molds for producing sealed spaces. The sealed spaces are sucked for pressing the pair of the resin sheets onto cavities of the pair of the split molds. Accordingly, the pair of the resin sheets is formed in a shape substantially identical to the outline of the sandwich panel.

Skinned panel and method of molding thereof

A resin panel of which contact surfaces of a rear wall to be in contact with another member are made unlikely to deform while reducing the weight of the resin panel. The panel includes a rear wall having a plurality of contact surfaces to be in contact with another member, and a front wall opposing the rear wall with an interval therebetween, the resin panel including a plurality of ribs obtained by indenting parts of the rear wall toward the front wall and welding the parts to an inner surface of the front wall, wherein a wall thickness of the front wall is generally equal to or smaller than a wall thickness of the rear wall.

An object of the present invention is to provide a sandwich panel which is capable of securing its flexural or its shear rigidity as a whole and securing a compression rigidity of a core material itself, while at the same time of readily reducing the weight of the sandwich panel. According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a sandwich panel comprising two resin skin sheets, and a resin core material sandwiched between the two resin skin sheets and planarly adhered to each of the two resin skin sheets, said core material consists of an foamed resin with a predetermined expanding ratio and has a plurality of recesses each of which forms an opening formed on at least one surface thereof and extends inwardly to define an inner space closed by the corresponding skin sheet, the number of said recesses and the total area of the openings are determined in such a manner that the planer adhesion of at least one surface of the resin core material to the corresponding skin sheet is maintained, while at the same time solid portions of the foamed resin of the resin core material excluding said inner space formed by the plurality of recesses function to support a compressive load in the thickness direction of the resin core material, under the predetermined void volume allocated to said plurality of recesses in relation with said predetermined expanding ratio.

The invention provides a molded foam molding method capable of obtaining a molded foam in which pinholes may not be formed with ease even when a blow ratio is high and which has a high expansion ratio. The invention also provides a molded foam which includes no pinholes, is reduced in weight, and is excellent in heat insulating property. The molding method includes blending a polypropylene-based resin having an equilibrium compliance from 2.0 to 6.0 (10&#xd7;Pa) with a foaming agent and kneading the blend in an extruder. The extruded foamed resin is molded so as to be fit along a mold by a pressurized fluid. Moreover, the molded foam is formed by the method described above, and has an expansion ratio from 1.5 to 5.0 times and an impact strength of not less than 30 kg&#xb7;cm.

The present invention provides a molding apparatus by which it is possible to make a frame located around a mold contact thermoplastic resin. In the molding apparatus of the present invention, the thermoplastic resin extruded from an extruding machine in a sheet form is adsorbed onto a cavity surface of the mold. As a result, the thermoplastic resin is shaped into a shape according to the cavity surface. The molding apparatus includes a frame that is positioned around the mold and is movable relative to the mold. In the frame, a suction part to suck the thermoplastic resin is provided.
