An optical disk device includes an optical pick-up module including a rotating portion rotating an optical disk; a carriage mounting at least a light source and being provided movably within the optical pick-up module; and a cover having an opening formed thereon, a light being radiated from the light source through the opening toward the outside of the cover; and a tray supporting the optical pick-up module. The tray includes an optical disk attachment region portion opposed to the optical disk and an outside portion provided on an outside of the optical disk attachment region portion. The outside portion has a ledge along its portion adjacent to the circular perimeter of the optical disk. The optical disk, when mounted on the rotating portion, entirely lies between first and second planes, the first plane being defined by the surface of the cover and the second plane being defined by a first of opposing surfaces of the ledge, which first opposing surface is closer to the surface of the cover than is a second of the opposing surfaces of the ledge.

When the USB power supply (VBUS) of the USB interface is used as the power supply for driving a conventional optical disc apparatus or disc apparatus, the supplied current exceeds the standard of USB. An optical disc apparatus is provided with: a spindle motor for rotating and driving an optical disc; a feed motor for shifting an optical pick-up in the direction of the radius of an optical disc, the optical pick-up carrying out either read-out of data that has been written in onto an optical disc or write-in of data onto an optical disc; and an actuator for minutely correcting the position of an object lens which is provided in the above described optical pick-up and which irradiates an optical disc with a laser beam which is collected, wherein a conversion circuit for changing a signal voltage of a servo processor, which is transmitted to a driving circuit of the above described spindle motor, is placed between the above described driving circuit and the above described servo processor for controlling the above described driving circuit along a signal line, and the above described conversion circuit can be controlled by a CPU provided in the above described optical disc apparatus.

A small-sized printer includes a printing section equipped with a shuttle head in which impact-type printing units are arranged in juxtaposition in a sub-scanning direction, a cylindrical cam for reciprocating the shuttle head in the sub-scanning direction, and paper feeding rollers for feeding a standard sheet in a main scanning direction; an input device for inputting information; a display device for displaying information; a RAM for storing information; and a CPU for controlling the printing section, the input section, the display device and the RAM and performing calculation on information. The printing section and the paper feeding rollers are provided in a body case in such a way as to be exposed where they are opposed to a case cover, which has a flat platen and spring members at positions opposed to the printing section, and ribs adapted to come into contact with the standard sheet and serving as a positioning device and as a sliding guide. The printing section provided in the body case has protrusions adapted to abut against the surface of the flat platen on the case cover. Spring members are provided to resiliently bias the flat platen against the protrusions, with a space being secured behind the flat platen.
