It is an object to improve the visibility of a display screen on which a detected target is displayed. A detection deviceis formed by a wave receiver disposed facing in a specific direction, and configured to periodically receive reflected waves corresponding to transmission wave transmitted from a wave transmitter, an echo train signal production componentconfigured to produce an echo train signal from each of the reflected waves, a distance from a starting point of the echo train signal corresponding to a distance from the wave transmitter, and an echo image signal production componentconfigured to produce an echo image signal based on each of the echo train signals in which each of the starting points is disposed at a specific reference point.

Detection device

A detecting device is provided. The detecting device detects target objects. The detecting device includes a transmitter configured to transmit transmission waves, a receiver configured to generate reception signals from reflection waves of the transmission waves, a target echo signal detecting module configured to detect target echo signals among the reception signals, a size calculating module configured to calculate a size of each the target objects based on the corresponding target echo signal, and a frequency index value distribution calculating module configured to calculate frequency index values for respective size ranges based on the calculated sizes, each frequency index value being an index of the number of the target objects. The frequency index value distribution calculating module has a first updating submodule configured to update the frequency index value for each size range every predetermined period of time.

Detecting device, fish finder and detecting method

An ultrasonic wave transceiving device is provided. The device includes a transmitter for transmitting at least one kind of first detection data ultrasonic signal and a plurality of kinds of second detection data ultrasonic signals, a receiver for receiving echo signals of the first and second detection data ultrasonic signals, and first and second information generators for generating first and second information based on the echo signal of the first and second detection data ultrasonic signals, respectively. The transmitter transmits the first and second detection data ultrasonic signals which transmission period of the first detection data ultrasonic signal intervenes between transmission periods of the second detection data ultrasonic signals in time axis. Device and method for transceiving ultrasonic wave

This disclosure provides an underwater detection device, which includes a first generator for generating a first transmission signal, a second generator for generating a second transmission signal having a longer pulse width than that of the first transmission signal, an output unit for outputting the transmission signals generated by the first and second generators to a transducer for transmitting underwater ultrasonic waves based on the first and second transmission signals, respectively, receiving the reflection waves caused by the ultrasonic waves, respectively, and converting the reflection waves into a first reception signal and a second reception signal, respectively, an underwater detector for detecting at least one of a presence of a target object and a water bottom depth based on the first reception signal, and a bottom sediment discriminator for discriminating a water bottom sediment type based on the second reception signal.

Underwater detection device and underwater detecting method

A device and method for determining bottom sediment is provided. The method includes transmitting a pulse of a pulse width corresponding to a water-bottom depth, extracting a series of amplitude data of water-bottom echo signals from predetermined signals among the water-bottom echo signals received by the transducer at a predetermined time interval, normalizing the extracted series of amplitude data after TVG-processed, calculating two or more feature quantities based on the normalized series of amplitude data in each of segments of the normalized series of amplitude data, and a value corresponding to the water-bottom depth, and generating bottom-sediment classification information indicating the bottom sediment based on the two or more feature quantities.

Bottom-sediment classification device and method

The invention provides a multi-frequency transducer capable of obtaining desired directivity regardless of frequencies. Parallelepiped-shaped transducer elements () are used as transducer elements and a plurality of such transducer elements () are arranged in an array. The transducer elements () are caused to resonate using a resonant frequency in fundamental vibration mode and a resonant frequency in harmonic vibration mode determined by the dimensions (A, B) of a short edge () and a long edge () perpendicular to a longitudinal edge () of each transducer element () to transmit and receive at multiple frequencies. The angle of directivity (&#x3b8;) of the transducer elements is controlled by the dimension (C) of the longitudinal edge which is set to a value which does not affect resonance in either the fundamental vibration mode or the harmonic vibration mode.
