A magnetic recording and reproduction apparatus includes an arm section pivotable about a pivoting shaft; a tape guide section provided on the arm section for guiding a magnetic tape; a capstan section for driving the magnetic tape so as to run; and a maintaining section provided on the capstan section. The arm section is pivotable between a first location and a second location. The first location is a location at which the information recording to and/or information reproduction from the magnetic tape is possible. The second location is a location at which the information recording to and/or information reproduction from the magnetic tape is not possible. When the arm section pivots from the second location to the first location, the maintaining section maintains a relative position of the arm section, which is in the first location, to the capstan section.

A magnetic recording and reproduction apparatus includes a pivotable arm section; an arm pivoting center shaft for supporting the pivoting center of the arm section; a capstan section for driving a magnetic tape so as to run; a pinch roller provided on the arm section for pressing the magnetic tape to the capstan section; and an extendable and compressable section extendable so as to be wound around the arm pivoting center shaft in accordance with the pivoting of the arm section and compressable so as to retract from the arm pivoting center shaft in accordance with the pivoting of the arm section.

A magnetic recording and reproduction apparatus includes a cylinder; a chassis section having the cylinder provided thereon; a tape pull-out member pulling out the magnetic tape; a positioning member having a ramp surface; and an urging section for urging the tape pull-out member. The first position is a position at which information recording to, and information reproduction from, the magnetic tape is possible. The tape pull-out member has a second surface facing the first surface. The tape pull-out member includes a projection provided on the second surface. The tape pull-out member is urged by the urging section such that the projection presses the ramp surface at the first position. A force received by the projection from the ramp surface, by the projection pressing the ramp surface, acts on the projection in a direction from the ramp surface toward the first surface.

A magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus is disclosed which has a first state in which a tape cassette is placed on a chassis and a second state which includes a PLAY mode, a REV mode and a STOP mode. The apparatus comprises: a reel base rotatably mounted on the chassis via a shaft and engaging with a reel which holds the magnetic tape wound thereon in the tape cassette; a tension post allowing the magnetic tape to pass around a periphery thereof in the second state; and a tension arm supporting the tension post at a fixed position of the tension arm, the tension arm being swingably mounted on the chassis, the reel base including a drum portion rotating integrally with the reel base. The apparatus further comprises: a tension band having a center portion passing around the drum portion and one end swingably held by the tension around the arm; and a tension band regulating arm movably supported by the chassis, the tension band regulating arm holding the other end of the tension band. When the magnetic tape runs in a forward direction in the PLAY mode, the tension band permits the apparatus to control the tension of the magnetic tape, and when the magnetic tape runs in one of the second state modes, the tension band regulating arm moves to a position at which the tension band is loosened and the tension arm is fixed in a first position as in the PLAY mode.

Magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus having a mechanism for moving a sub-chassis relative to a main chassis

An apparatus of the present invention is a magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus for pulling out a magnetic tape from a cassette, forming a predetermined tape drive system with a group of tape guide posts while winding the magnetic tape around a rotary head cylinder, having a rotary head, for a predetermined arc, so as to perform recording/reproduction of the magnetic tape. The apparatus includes: an inclined post around which a non-magnetic side of the magnetic tape from the rotary head cylinder is wound; a rail provided integrally with a base on which the rotary head cylinder is mounted; and a tape guide post carrier which has the inclined post mounted thereon and is guided along the rail. The inclined post is a tape guide post around which the winding contact line, along which the magnetic tape contacts the tape guide post, is not perpendicular to a tape drive direction. The inclined post has a tapered tip portion whose diameter upwardly decreases, wherein an upper edge of the magnetic tape is between a base of the tapered tip portion and a tip of the tapered tip portion.

A package relay terminal assembly of the present invention not only electrically conducts to exterior connection terminals (101) of an electric circuit housed in a record package (100) but also is intended to guide and position the record package within a recording and reproducing device during recording and reproduction, and ensure reliable setting of the record package in place. To this end, the package relay terminal assembly of the present invention has L-shaped terminal strips (1) corresponding in number to the exterior connection terminals (101) of the record package (100), the terminal strips (1) being arranged side by side on a terminal wall (2a). And the terminal wall (2a) is provided with a base block (2b) and a guide wall (2c).

A cassette holder adapted to hold a tape cassette and to lift and lower said tape cassette therein provided with an opener which is urged by a spring to turn around the axis of an opener support shaft during the lifting and lowering of the cassette holder with the lower end of the cover of the tape cassette abutting against an inclined surface of the opener. Further, an opener kicking portion at the front end of a stand fixed to a chassis abuts against the opener to turn the latter during the lifting and lowering.
