A caliper for an opposed-piston disc brake, includes a pair of bodies provided at two sides of a rotor that rotates with a wheel, each of the bodies including five cylinders. A central cylinder among the five cylinders provided on each of the bodies, which is surrounded by four of the cylinders, has a center which is located in a region on a radially inner side relative to an outer reference circle and on a radially outer side relative to an inner reference line. The outer reference circle passes through a center of a cylinder provided on a radially outermost side among the four of the cylinders and has a center thereof on a center of the rotor. The inner reference line passes through centers of two of the cylinders provided on a radially inner side among the four of the cylinders.

Caliper for opposed piston-type disc brake

A belt-like rib that extends in a peripheral direction is provided to the outer surface, in the axial direction, of an outer body. The inner diameter side sections of the bottoms of outer cylinders at the outer diameter side and the outer diameter side sections of the bottoms of outer cylinders at the inner diameter side, all the cylinders being provided to the outer body so as to be separated into two stages in the radial direction, are covered with the belt-like rib from outside in the axial direction so as to traverse along the peripheral direction. The outer diameter side sections of the bottoms of the outer cylinders at the outer diameter side and the inner diameter side sections of the bottoms of the outer cylinders at the inner diameter side are made to protrude from the belt-like rib in the radial direction.

Caliper for opposed piston type disc brake

In an opposed-piston disc brake caliper, a pair of reinforcement bridge portions, which are inclined relative to an axial direction, are provided on outside of a rotor in a radial direction of the rotor so as to define corner opening portions in an opening portion which is defined by an inner body portion, an outer body portion, and an entry-side connection portion and an exit-side connection portion connecting the inner body portion and the outer body portion. A torque receiving portion of one of the entry-side torque receiving portion and the exit-side torque receiving portion is exposed toward an outside in the radial direction via the corner opening portions.

Opposed-piston disc brake caliper

A composite disc rotor includes a disc main body, a coupling bracket and coupling units. Each of the coupling units includes a bobbin, a clip and a coupling bolt. A head part of the bobbin includes a torque receiving portion inserted in the notch and a projection projected in a circumferential direction from an end of the torque receiving portion. A pipe part of the bobbin is extended from the head part and is fitted in a coupling through hole of the disc main body. The clip includes a connecting portion between the torque receiving portion and the notch and a pressing portion extended from the connecting portion between the head part and the coupling bracket. The coupling bolt is inserted into each of through hole of the bobbin to fix the coupling bracket to the coupling unit.

Composite disc rotor

The pad clipis arranged between pinsmade to bridge an outer body portion and an inner body portion constituting a caliper and the two pads. An engaging plate portionis engaged with the respective pinswithout play. Press piecesformed by folding to bend both end portions in a rotational direction of the engaging plate portion in directions in which the more proximate to the two pads, the more directed to an outer side in a radial direction are brought into elastic contact with outer peripheral edges of both end portions in a rotational direction of pressure platesof the two pads. Thereby, amounts of projecting portions in correspondence with the respective press piecesin a state of a material plate before being folded to bend from the engaging plate portioncan be restrained.
