A liquid discharge head includes a head body, a plurality of driver ICs, a flexible substrate, and a wiring board. The head body includes a discharge hole configured to discharge a liquid. The plurality of driver ICs controls drive of the head body. The plurality of driver ICs are mounted at the flexible substrate, and the flexible substrate is electrically connected to the head body. The wiring board includes a plurality of connectors. In addition, the flexible substrate includes: a plurality of protruding portions configured to protrude in the same direction and each including a tip portion to be inserted into corresponding one of the plurality of connectors; and a slit formed between the protruding portions adjacent to each other and extending up to a region between the driver ICs adjacent to each other.

Liquid discharge head and recording device

A liquid ejection head includes a first channel member and a plurality of pressurizing parts. The first channel member includes a plurality of ejection holes, a common channel, a damper chamber, and a damper. The first channel member is configured by a plurality of flat plates including a first plate with the plurality of ejection holes and a second plate adjacent to this. The second plate includes a first part sandwiched between the damper chamber and the first plate. A covering layer is unevenly provided on the first surface of the first part.

An arbitrary piezoelectric deformation region () of the liquid ejector () is deflected in one thickness direction and the opposite direction individually by applying a driving voltage waveform including a first voltage (&#x2212;V) and an equivalent second voltage (+V) of the opposite polarity in order to vary the volume of the pressurizing chambers () of a corresponding liquid droplet ejecting portion (), and a liquid droplet is ejected through a communicating nozzle (). Since gradual creep deformation of the inactive region () of the piezoelectric ceramic layer () is prevented, the ink droplet ejection performance is maintained at a good level over a long period.

Method for driving liquid ejector

A method for driving a liquid drop ejector () equipped with a piezoelectric actuator () including a piezoelectric ceramic layer () having a size covering a plurality of pressurizing chambers (). A piezoelectric actuator that includes plural individual electrodes each of which includes a driving electrode and a connection terminal disposed at one end of the driving electrode. A maximum difference in height between the connection terminals is 4 &#x3bc;m or less.

Piezoelectric actuator, method of manufacturing the same, and inkjet recording head

An inkjet head includes a cavity plate having a plurality of pressure chambers arranged in matrix, a piezoelectric sheet laminated on the cavity plate, and a power supply board. A plurality of substantially rhombus driving electrodes are formed on the piezoelectric sheet in a matrix at positions corresponding to the pressure chambers. A first contact land extends from one of the acute angle corners of each driving electrode. The driving electrodes are arranged such that the first contact land extending from one driving electrode is placed between two driving electrodes adjacent to said one driving electrode. The power supply board has a plurality of second contact lands formed at positions corresponding to the first contact lands. The second contact lands are connected with respective ones of the first contact lands for power supply.

Inkjet head

An object of the invention is to provide a thermal head provided with an excellent protective layer where a dielectric breakdown is hardly caused even when printing is performed on a recording medium of low moisture absorbency. In a thermal head of the invention, heating resistors are provided on an insulating substrate, and the heating resistors are coated with a protective layer containing carbon and silicon. The protective layer contains 65 to 90 atm % carbon, and carbon-to-carbon bonds of the protective layer include 95.0% or more covalent bonds related to an sp hybrid orbital.

Thermal head

The drive circuit elements mounted on a heat resistant substrate for composing a thermal head were covered with a protective layer made of epoxy resin in the prior art. This epoxy resin is greatly different from the heat resistant substrate in the coefficient of linear expansion and is relatively high in Young's modulus, and therefore due to rise or fall of temperature in the manufacturing process, the shrinkage of the protective layer is greater than the shrinkage of the heat resistant substrate, and hence the heat resistant substrate is warped. Such warp may be eliminated by selecting a resin having a coefficient of linear expansion almost same as the coefficient of linear expansion of the heat resistant substrate as the material for the protective layer.
