A fuel supply device includes a pump unit with a fuel pump that has a rotary body rotating about a rotary shaft and a load receiving portion, configured to receive the load of the pump unit. A connecting portion is provided for connecting the pump unit to the load receiving portion such that the pump unit is suspended by the load receiving portion. The connecting portion is disposed so as to extend across a virtual plane which is perpendicular to the rotary shaft for the rotary body of the fuel pump and passes through the center of gravity of the pump unit.

Fuel supply devices

The fuel tank according to the present invention is a fuel tank including a fuel supply device for pressure-feeding fuel to an engine of a vehicle; a fuel vapor treating device configured to enable adsorption of fuel vapor; a fuel tank body which stores the fuel; and a cover material which blocks an opening portion formed in the fuel tank body, wherein an inlet portion to which an inlet pipe for guiding the fuel from a fueling port to the fuel tank body is connected is fixed to the cover material in a state of penetrating the cover material, and a pipe and a wire of the fuel supply device and pipes of the fuel vapor treating device are further fixed to the cover material in a state of penetrating the cover material.

Fuel tank

A partitioning plate, that is positioned between a jet pump and a main suction, is set within a reserve cup of a fuel tank, so as to separate an interior of the reserve cup into a fuel feed-out chamber in which the main suction is disposed, and a fuel introducing chamber in which the jet pump is disposed. The partitioning plate is disposed at an incline with respect to a vehicle longitudinal direction. In cases in which acceleration in any of a forward direction, a rearward direction, a leftward direction and a rightward direction of a vehicle acts on fuel within the reserve cup, some of fuel within the fuel introducing chamber flows into the fuel feed-out chamber. A fuel tank structure is provided that can reliably ensure fuel within the fuel feed-out chamber in a case in which acceleration arises at fuel within a fuel accommodating portion.

Fuel tank structure

The present invention includes a mounting structure having a flange and a plurality of hook portions formed integrally with a piping member. The flange can contact a first surface of an element having a through-hole formed therein. The hook portions extend from the flange for inserting into the through-hole and can resiliently deform in a radial direction with respect to the axis of the flange. Each hook portion has a hooking end that can engage a second surface of the element opposite to the first surface.

Mounting structures for piping members

A main suction, that is a portion of a fuel feed-out pipe, and a bent portion, that is a lowermost portion formed at a return pipe, are both disposed within a fuel tank, positioned lower than a lowest liquid surface within a reserve cup, and can always be maintained in a state of existing within fuel. A fuel expelling port of a jet pump is positioned higher than a highest liquid surface at the reserve cup, and is always positioned higher than fuel within the reserve cup. As a result, a fuel tank structure in which suppression of flowing-out of fuel from the return pipe and the like, an improvement in the fuel transferring performance of the jet pump, and suppression of backward flowing of fuel through a transfer pipe, can all be realized is obtained.

Fuel supply device () may comprise fuel pump () and suction filter () attached to a fuel intake port () of fuel pump (). Suction filter () may have a sheet-shaped filter body () and an attaching member (). Filter body () has an internal filter structure (), and attaching member () attaches filter body () to fuel intake port () such that internal filter structure () communicates with fuel intake port (). Filter body () may be folded over to form a multi-layered structure comprising an upper filter layer () and a lower filter layer (). Folding over the sheet-shaped filter body () allows a filtration area of fuel supply device () to be increased while preventing an increase in the size of fuel supply device ().

Fuel supply device

A fuel pump capable of using the pump efficiency most efficiently without reducing the useful service life is provided. A relatively large clearance allowing for the expected amount of wear is ensured in a region where the flow passage groove pressure is low. In a region where the flow passage groove pressure is high, it is unnecessary to allow for the wear. Therefore, the clearance is set relatively small.

Fuel pump

Vanes (,) are provided on the outer peripheries of both surfaces of an impeller in a circumferential direction, and vane grooves (,) are provided between the vanes. The vane grooves are formed to be curvilinear as viewed from a radial cross section. Also, connections of the vane grooves (,) with end surfaces (,) of the vanes are formed to be curvilinear as viewed from a circumferential cross section, and portions which extend from a forward side of a direction of rotation toward the connections are formed to be curvilinear. Communication holes (,) are formed forwardly or rearwardly of the vane grooves in the direction of rotation to allow communication between the vane grooves on both surfaces. An opening of the vane grooves is formed into various shapes, for example, straight in a radial direction, curved in the direction of rotation, or inclined in the direction of rotation.

Impeller of motor-driven fuel pump

A water pump including a pump housing having a central axial through-hole; a pump shaft inserted in the through-hole; a pulley fixed on the pump shaft at one end thereof; an impeller fixed on the pump shaft at the other end thereof; a bearing fitted with the through-hole for rotatably supporting the pump shaft in the vicinity of the pulley; a water seal provided between the impeller and the bearing for sealing water in a pump chamber where the impeller is installed, wherein an intermediate chamber is defined among the pump housing, the bearing and the water seal. A first ventilation passage is formed in a wall of the pump housing so as to induce an atomspheric air into the intermediate chamber. A second ventilation passage is formed in the wall of the pump housing so as to discharge a water vapor in the intermediate chamber to an outside of the pump housing. A vacuum generating portion is formed by rotation of the pulley in the vicinity of an outlet of the second ventilation passage opening to a space defined between the pulley and the pump housing, whereby when the pulley is rotated, the water vapor in the intermediate chamber is positively ventilated through the second ventilation passage by vacuum to be generated in the vacuum generating portion.
