Provided is a pigment dispersion excellent in the dispersibility of C.I. Pigment yellow 185. The pigment dispersion includes C.I. Pigment yellow 185 and a compound represented by the following formula (1), which are dispersed in a dispersing medium:

The present invention provides a water-insoluble coloring compound having a high solvent solubility, showing increased brightness and saturation, and being useful for increasing the green gamut and also provides an ink containing the water-insoluble coloring compound. The present invention provides a thermal transfer recording sheet including a coloring material layer formed on a base material from the ink and also provides a color filter resist composition showing an increased green gamut due to the ink.

The present invention provides a water-insoluble coloring compound having excellent light resistance, an ink containing the coloring compound, a thermal transfer recording sheet including a coloring material layer formed on a base material from the ink, and a color filter resist composition containing the ink.

A yellow toner is provided which is superior in dispersibility of C. I. pigment yellow 185, has a high color development property, and is superior in light resistance. The present invention provides a yellow toner having high compatibility of a colorant with a binder resin, having good chroma, and being useful for broadening the green color gamut. To provide a yellow toner having a colorant in a good dispersed state, obtained through excellent granulation performance and having stable developing performance, the yellow toner contains a binder resin, a wax and a colorant, and is characterized by containing as the colorant a compound represented by the following general formula (1) and a compound represented by the following general formula (2).
