A liquid ejecting apparatus of the invention includes a distance obtaining unit that obtains a distance between the nozzle of the head and a medium to which the liquid is ejected. The driving signal is a periodical signal including a first pulse-wave capable of ejecting a drop of the liquid having a predetermined volume at a relatively low speed, and a second pulse-wave capable of ejecting a drop of the liquid having the predetermined volume at a relatively high speed, the predetermined volume corresponding to a predetermined level data. The driving-pulse generator is adapted to generate, when the selected level data is the predetermined level data: a driving-pulse including only the first pulse-wave when a distance obtained by the distance obtaining unit is not less than a predetermined value; and a driving-pulse including only the second pulse-wave when the distance is less than the predetermined value.

Liquid ejecting apparatus

The present apparatus includes: a liquid ejecting head having a nozzle plate with an ejecting hole through which a liquid is discharged, a conductive member disposed behind an object being processed opposite to the liquid ejecting head, a potential difference generating device for generating a potential difference between the nozzle plate and the conductive member, and a switching control device for turning on and off the potential difference generating device. The switching control device decides whether a process to which the object is subjected is a borderless recording process that drops liquid drops on an edge part of the object or a bordered recording process that does not drop any liquid drops on the edge part, and turns off the potential difference generating device when the bordered recording process is executed.

Liquid ejecting apparatus and liquid ejecting method

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head formed with a nozzle opening from which a liquid droplet is ejected, and having a driving voltage information ID in a reference state specific to each liquid ejecting head, a pressure generating chamber communicating with the nozzle opening, a piezoelectric vibrator, expanding and contracting the pressure generating chamber, a driving signal generator generating a driving signal to displace the piezoelectric vibrator, a switch, selectively applying the driving signal to the piezoelectric vibrator based on liquid ejecting data, and a flexible flat cable transmitting the driving signal to the piezoelectric vibrator. A voltage obtained by adding a correction coefficient to a voltage specified in the driving voltage information ID is used as a reference driving voltage.

The liquid ejecting apparatus includes: a liquid jet head including a nozzle opening through which a liquid drop is ejected by changing pressure of a liquid in a pressure chamber interconnecting to the nozzle opening; a scanning mechanism including a carriage on which the liquid jet head is loaded, the scanning mechanism moves the liquid jet head in a head scanning direction together with the carriage; a case configured to contain the liquid jet head and the scanning mechanism; and a leading unit for leading a liquid drop, which is ejected from the liquid jet head and not applied to an article to be processed, in a given direction using an air stream generated in the case due to moving of the carriage.
