An antenna wireless device includes: antenna elements; feed ports respectively corresponding to the antenna elements; one or more detection ports each corresponding to some or all of the plurality of antenna elements; transceiver circuits respectively connected to feed ports; and one or more reference transceiver circuits each connected to a corresponding one or more of the one or more detection ports. For each antenna element, the transceiver circuit processes a first signal to generate a second signal, the second signal fed to the feed port is output to the reference transceiver circuit through the detection port, the reference transceiver circuit processes the second signal to generate a third signal, and detects an amplitude and phase deviation based on the first signal and the third signal, and the transceiver circuit adjusts a phase and an amplitude of a transmission signal based on the amplitude and phase deviation.

The transmitter includes a dither signal generator which, in operation, generates pseudo random sequence signals as dither signals for lower bits of digital signals, the pseudo random sequence signals being different from each other, the digital signals each corresponding to respective one of the plurality of antenna elements, and a plurality of digital-to-analog converters which, in operation, adds the dither signals generated by the dither signal generator to the lower bits of the digital signals, and converts only upper bits of addition results of the digital signals and the dither signals into analog signals.

A transmitter communicates with a receiver via a satellite station that transmits a signal by a multibeam system. The transmitter includes a scheduler and a transmission unit. The scheduler performs scheduling to determine a time and a wireless channel to transmit data addressed to the receiver based on an area where the receiver is present. The transmission unit transmits a signal of the data addressed to the receiver to the satellite station by the wireless channel determined by the scheduler and at the time determined by the scheduler. When a first determination unit () determines that a terminal exists outside the cell of a base station (), an existence recognition packet transmission/reception unit () transmits a recognition packet, which is used for recognition, to the terminal via a small cell, and thereafter receives a response to the recognition packet from the terminal via the small cell. In order to shorten the time in which an initial connection is established when switching directivity and then performing the initial connection, a frame timing control unit sets, until detection of an RACH signal, a transmission timing of a transmission frame for transmitting a search signal and a broadcast signal and also sets a reception-start timing for starting the reception of the corresponding RACH signal. A search/broadcast signal generation unit generates the broadcast signal and the search signal including reception-timing information. A beam directivity control unit sets, for a predetermined time starting from the reception-start timing, a directivity pattern such that the directivity is in the same direction as the directivity pattern for the corresponding transmission-timing information, whereby the beam directivity control unit controls a beam directivity operation unit.
