Provided a method for producing a nitride phosphor. The method includes preparing a mixture that comprises a first nitride and a cerium source, the first nitride comprising, as a host crystal, a crystal having the same crystal structure as CaAlSiN; and performing a heat treatment of the mixture at a temperature of 1,300° C. to 1,900° C. to obtain a second nitride. The first nitride comprises aluminum, silicon, nitrogen, and at least one selected from the group consisting of lithium, calcium, and strontium.

Nitride phosphor and method for producing same

Provided is a fluorescent material with high brightness. The fluorescent material includes a nitride fluorescent material comprising La, Ce, Si, and N; and a first phosphorus compound disposed on a surface of the nitride fluorescent material. The first phosphorus compound includes at least one selected from the group consisting of lanthanum phosphate, lanthanum hydrogen phosphate, and hydrates thereof. A content of phosphorus atoms in the fluorescent material is 0.07% by mass or higher and 0.8% by mass or lower.

Fluorescent material, method of producing the same, and light emitting device using the same

Provided are a fluorescent material including a high light emission intensity and a light emitting device using the same. The present fluorescent material includes at least an A element, a M element, a D element, a E element, and an X element, wherein the A element is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Sr, Mg, Ca, and Ba; the M element is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Eu, Mn, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Tb, Dy, and Yb; the D element is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Si, Ge, Sn, Ti, Zr, and Hf, the E element is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Al, B, Ga, In, Sc, Y, and La; the X element is at least one element selected from the group consisting of O, N, and F; and a molar ratio of the M element to the sum of the A element and the M element [M/(A+M)] is 0.06 or less.

Fluorescent material and light emitting device

A fluorescent substance is provided having excellent temperature properties and capable of being excited by light in the region from near ultraviolet to short-wavelength visible light to emit light of yellow to red color. A process for producing the fluorescent substance, and a light emitting device using the fluorescent substance is also provided. The fluorescent substance includes M which is at least one group II element selected from Ca, Sr, and Ba, and Al, Si, O, and N, and activated with Eu. The fluorescent substance has an X-ray diffraction pattern using CuK&#x3b1; radiation, in which the intensity of the diffraction peak in the Bragg angle range of 17.9&#xb0; to 18.5&#xb0; is taken as 100%, the relative intensity of the diffraction peak is 150% to 310% in a Bragg angle range of 24.5&#xb0; to 25.1&#xb0; , and is 320% to 550% in a Bragg angle range of 34.8&#xb0; to 35.4&#xb0;.

Fluorescent substance, method of manufacturing the fluorescent substance, and light emitting device using the fluorescent substance

A red phosphor with excellent luminescent characteristics, and a light emitting device that uses this phosphor are provided. The phosphor is a nitride phosphor that is activated by europium, and absorbs light from the near ultraviolet range to the blue range to emit red light. The nitride phosphor has the following general formula,MAlSiBN:Euwhere M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba. In the general formula, w, x, y and z fall within the following ranges.
