Target substance detection device and target substance detection method

The invention relates to a method that detects the target substance by measuring a decrease in the optical signal generated by applying a first magnetic field to move the conjugate in the direction parallel to or away from the surface, etc. The invention also relates to an optical detection device wherein a liquid holding part has a sensing plate that can form a near field on a surface with light irradiated from a side of a rear face under a condition of total reflection, the liquid holding part being capable of holding a liquid sample that has a target substance and a magnetic particle that forms a conjugate with the target substance on the surface of the sensing plate, a light irradiation unit, a light detection unit, and a magnetic field application unit configured to apply a magnetic field to move the conjugate in the direction parallel to or away from the surface, etc.

It is thus possible to manufacture a solid-state memory which requires lower current for recording and erasing data and has a greater rewriting cycle number.

A solid memory may include a recording layer including Ge, Sb and Te as major components. The recording layer may include a superlattice. The recording layer may include multi-layers each having a parent phase showing a phase transformation in solid-states, the phase transformation causing change in electrical property of the recording layer. The recording layer may include an SbTelayer that includes at least one period of a first lamination of a first Te-atomic layer, a first Sb-atomic layer, a second Te-atomic layer, a second Sb-atomic layer, and a third Te-atomic layer in these order, a GeTe layer that includes at least one period of a second lamination of a fourth Te-atomic layer and a Ge-atomic layer, and an Sb layer that includes a plurality of Sb-atomic layers.

An object of the invention is to write-once record and reproduce, or only reproduce, a mark smaller than the resolution limit; obtain a high level of reproduction performance (CNR and the like); and realize a high level of reproduction durability. In the invention, between a signal reproducing functional layer composed of Sb or Te and a protecting layer there is introduced a thermally stable diffusion preventing layer, and thereby reactions between the signal reproducing functional layer and the protecting layer due to increased temperature can be prevented or suppressed while increasing reproduction durability.

Optical recording medium

An optical recording medium includes a substrate, a first dielectric layer, a recording layer, a second dielectric layer, a super-resolution layer, and a third dielectric layer, which are provided in that order. The super-resolution layer is formed of a material configured such that voids are generated when the material is irradiated with DC light at a predetermined irradiation power for 1 to 300 seconds. Therefore, super-resolution reproduction can be made such that the irradiation power of a readout laser beam does not depend on the size of a recording mark.

Optical recording medium and method for reproducing information from optical recording medium

A method for reproducing data according to the present invention is adapted for reproducing data recorded in an optical recording disc including a multi-layered body formed by forming a decomposition reaction layer containing noble metal oxide as a primary component and a light absorption layer so as to sandwich a dielectric layer therebetween by irradiating a laser beam onto the optical recording disc and forming a recording mark train including at least one of a recording mark having a length shorter than a resolution limit and a blank region having a length shorter than the resolution limit therein, and is constituted by changing the read power Pr of the laser beam in accordance with a readout linear velocity at which data are to be reproduced from the optical recording disc. According to the thus constituted method for reproducing data, even in the case where the length of a recording mark or the length of a blank region between neighboring recording marks is shorter than the resolution limit, it is possible to record and reproduce a recording mark train including these recording marks and the blank regions. Therefore, this method can be applied to an optical recording medium whose storage capacity is markedly increased.

Method for reproducing data and an apparatus for recording and reproducing data

A method for determining a read power of a laser beam includes a step of setting a power of a laser beam to a recommended recording power Pw' and forming a recording mark train including at least one of a recording mark having a length shorter than a resolution limit and a blank region having a length shorter than the resolution limit in an optical recording disc, thereby recording test data therein. The method also includes a step of setting the power of the laser beam to a recommended read power Pr&#x2032; and reproducing the test data recorded in the optical recording disc, a step of judging whether or not signal characteristics of a reproduced signal obtained by reproducing the test data satisfies reference conditions, and determining an optimum read power of the laser beam based on the result of the judgment.
