In a joining jig for disposing a sheet-shaped adherend on one surface side of a sheet-shaped material, folding back the adherend in an end edge portion of the sheet-shaped material, and causing adhesion of an end edge portion of the adherend on the other surface side of the sheet-shaped material, by a tip portion of an attachment piece pivoting in the end edge portion of a placement surface of a placement base, the attachment piece is switchable between a deployment position where an attachment surface to which the adherend is attached is deployed outside the end edge portion of the placement surface of the placement base and a facing position where the attachment surface faces the end edge portion of the placement surface.

Joining jig and joining apparatus

A joining apparatus includes a fusing mechanism part that joins two thermoplastic sheet-like materials by fusing, a sticking mechanism part that sticks an adhesive tape along a joined portion of the sheet-like materials, a workbench having a placement surface on which the fusing mechanism part and the sticking mechanism part are disposed side by side, the placement surface allowing the sheet-like materials in an unfolded state to be placed thereon, and a guide that allows an end portion to be joined of one of the sheet-like materials and an end portion to be joined of the other sheet-like material to overlap each other while aligned along a plane intersecting the placement surface, each of the end portions to be joined of the sheet-like materials being placed on the placement surface, and to feed the overlapping end portions to be joined. The fusing mechanism part fuses and joins the end portions.

Joining apparatus for sheet-like materials

A sewing machine includes a needle, a needle bar which supports the needle, an upper feeding foot operable to feed the workpiece interlockingly with an up and down movement of the needle bar, a presser foot operable to press the workpiece, a holding bar which supports the presser foot, an actuator including an operating member operable to be changed to a first state, a second state or a no-load state, and a connecting portion which couples the operating member and the holding bar. The holding bar is constantly biased downward by a biasing force. The actuator moves the presser foot up against the first biasing force when the operating member is in the first state, and moves the presser foot down when the operating member is in the second state.

A method is disclosed where a knot is formed in chain-stitching, and a first loop formed by a stitch to an article to be sewn, two stitches ahead of a final stitch, is drawn through a second loop which is formed by a stitch one stitch ahead of the final stitch, whereby a knot where the first loop is fastened by the second loop is formed, such that a third loop is inserted through the second loop and is then cut.

A drive force transmission for a shuttle section in a sewing machine in which a rotation of a spindle is transmitted and transformed into a swing motion to an output shaft coupled with the shuttle section, the drive force transmission comprising: a power transmission mechanism coupled with the spindle; a drive force transmission shaft rotating by the rotation of the spindle through the power transmission mechanism; and a force transforming mechanism provided between the drive force transmission shaft and the output shaft, for transforming the rotation from the drive force transmission shaft into the swing motion of the output shaft.

Drive force transmission for a shuttle section in a sewing machine

A sewing machine having a substantially U-shaped structure includes a bed section, a barrel section connected to the bed section in a substantially perpendicular fashion, and a bracket connected to the arm barrel section in a substantially perpendicular fashion and extended substantially parallel to the bed section. The bracket includes an opening at an upper surface of the bracket and an arm cover engageable with the upper surface of the bracket for closing the arm opening. The arm cover is substantially flush with the upper surface of the bracket when engaged with the upper surface.

Frame structure for a sewing machine arm

A movable table apparatus includes a table in the form of a quadrilateral with four sides with two pairs perpendicular to each other, a pair of first fixed guide rails corresponding to the first pair of sides, and a pair of second movable guide rails corresponding to the second pair of sides. The table is adapted for movement in X and Y directions and is fabricated at a low overall height so that the apparatus may be lightweight and compact, thus requiring fewer parts and affording ready assembly. A work clamp support arm with a work clamp is rigidly mounted on a pair of the second and movable guide rails.
