A Y-axis direction moving mechanism that moves a Y-axis carriage includes a right first driving pulley configured to retract and pay out a right first wire and located in a housing, a right first driven pulley on the Y-axis carriage and around which the right first wire is wound, and a Y-axis motor configured to drive and rotate the right first driving pulley. An X-axis direction moving mechanism that moves an X-axis carriage includes a second driving pulley configured to retract and pay out a second wire and on a Y-axis carriage, a second driven pulley on an X-axis carriage and around which the second wire is wound, and an X-axis motor configured to drive and rotate the second driving pulley.

Foil transfer apparatus

A control device reads a slice image, positions a boundary line in an overlapped area in the slice image, extracts first and second image segments from the slice image, converts luminance values in the boundary line and an area in the first image segment to zero, converts luminance values in the boundary line and an area in the second image segment to zero, and outputs picture signals according to the image segments to projectors, respectively. The control device displaces the boundary line every time when it positions the boundary line in repeating such operations.

Control device

A three-dimensional printing apparatus includes a projector to project a first image onto a tank and a controller to control the projector. The controller includes an acquirer, an inclination calculator, a vertical and horizontal correction value calculator, a memory, and a corrector. The acquirer projectively transforms the first image, thus acquiring a second image obtained by correction of the first image. The second image includes a projection sub-image. The inclination calculator calculates horizontal and vertical inclinations of the projection sub-image in the second image. The vertical and horizontal correction value calculator calculates a first correction value based on the horizontal inclination, and calculates a second correction value based on the vertical inclination. The memory stores a third correction value. The corrector corrects the brightness distribution of the second image using a fourth correction value calculated based on the first to third correction values.

Three-dimensional printing apparatus and three-dimensional object printing method

A three-dimensional printing apparatus includes a controller to control first and second projectors that apply equal or substantially equal total amounts of optical energy. The controller performs first and second projecting operations. The first projecting operation involves simultaneously projecting first and second cross-sectional sub-images from the first projector onto first and second areas of an image projecting surface, respectively, and the second and third cross-sectional sub-images from the second projector onto the second and third areas of the image projecting surface, respectively. The second projecting operation involves simultaneously projecting the first cross-sectional sub-image from the first projector onto the first area and the third cross-sectional sub-image from the second projector onto the third area. The controller equalizes the number of times the first to third cross-sectional sub-images are to be respectively projected onto the first to third areas.

Three-dimensional printing apparatus

To make it possible to generate slice data without the need to modify a polygon mesh that does not satisfy conditions of a perfect solid model. A slice data generator for generating slice data representing a cross section cut from a three-dimensional modeled object, wherein the slice data generator has: changing means for changing topology information of a polygon mesh so that a contour polyline is obtained indicating a contour line of a cut cross section of the polygon mesh; and modifying means for acquiring the contour polyline from the polygon mesh, the topology information of the polygon mesh having been changed by the changing means, and modifying the contour polyline so that an inside which is a region inside the acquired contour polyline can be normally filled; slice data being generated on the basis of the contour polyline modified by the modifying means.

Generating slice data representing a cross section cut from a three-dimensional modeled object

A three-dimensional printing apparatus includes a base including an opening, a tank placed on the base and storing a liquid photo-curable resin, an optical device including a light source that emits light and arranged to irradiate the resin inside the tank with light emitted from the light source through the opening, a shutter that covers the opening in an openable and closable manner, a slide guide that guides sliding of the tank so that the tank is slidable between a preparation position located outside of a region over the opening and an installation position located over the opening, and an interlocking device that opens and closes the shutter in conjunction with sliding of the tank so that the shutter is opened when the tank is located over the entire opening, and the shutter is closed when the tank is not located over at least a portion of the opening.

A three-dimensional printing apparatus includes a tank that stores a liquid photo-curable resin; a base on which the tank is placed and which includes a light passage portion through which light passes; an optical device that is disposed below the base, includes a light source, and irradiates the resin with light emitted from the light source through the light passage portion; and a holder provided above the tank so that when lowered, the holder is immersed in the resin, and when raised, the holder lifts the cured resin. A front-rear length of the tank is longer than a front-rear length of the holder. A front-rear center of the holder is located rearward relative to a front-rear center of the tank, and a front-rear length between a front end of the tank and a front end of the holder is equal to or longer than the front-rear length of the holder.
