Organic EL display module including a pixel disposed in respective intersections between a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of data lines, which lines are aligned in a matrix, and a current supply line that supplies electric current to the pixel, wherein the pixel includes an active device selected by the scanning line, a data storage device that stores a data signal that is supplied from the data line by control of the active device, and an organic light emitting device that emits light by the electric current supplied by the current supply line according to the data signal stored in the data storage device, wherein the data storage device provides a lower electrode, an insulating layer and an upper electrode, and wherein the lower electrode has a same layer with a channel layer of the active device and the upper electrode is made of a metal material.

Display module

A switching power supply has a function of improving a power factor, and outputs insulated DC. The switching power supply performs two kinds of controls for switching devices exclusive to each other: controlling of a switching device provided in a direction in which the discharging of a primary-side smoothing capacitor is prohibited at the time of suspension of commercially available AC power and near the zero cross of an input voltage; and causing a switching device provided between the output side of a third winding and the primary-side smoothing capacitor to control a charging current, thereby charging a capacitor in a boosted manner.

Switching power supply and display device provided the same

A display module includes a pixel disposed in respective intersections between a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of data lines, which lines are aligned in a matrix, and a current supply line that supplies electric current to the pixel, the pixel includes a data storage device for storing a data signal supplied from the data lines, and an emitting device that emits light by the electric current supplied by the current supply line according to the data signal stored in the data storage device. One terminal of the data signal storage device is connected to one of the scanning lines placed anteriorly of to the pixel that is being selected.

It is an object to provide an organic light-emitting element having two or more light-emitting layers, wherein degradation of each constituent material for the light-emitting layer is reduced to improve reliability of the element. The present invention provides an organic light-emitting element having a laminated structure with a first mixed light-emitting layercomposed of a hole transport material, an electron transport material and a dopant which determines a color of an emitted light, and a second mixed light-emitting layercomposed of a hole transport material, an electron transport material and a dopant which determines a color of an emitted light, and also provides an image display device which uses the organic light-emitting element.

Organic light-emitting element, image display device and production method thereof

A scanning line, a signal line, a first current supply line, and a second current supply line are formed on a glass substrate, a first electrode is formed on the wiring layer comprising the above members, an organic layer comprising a hole transport layer, a light-emitting layer, an electron transport layer, and an electron injection layer is formed on the first electrode, a second electrode is formed as cathode on the electron injection layer, the first electrode as anode is connected to a plus terminal of a power source through the driving devices and the first current supply line, whereas the second electrode as cathode is connected to a minus terminal of the power source, and is connected to the second current supply line in the display region of each pixel, with a contact hole serving as a feeding point, whereby wiring resistance due to the second electrode is reduced, and variations in the brightness of a panel is reduced.

Organic light-emitting display device

An active matrix type display includes a light emission device having a transparent pixel electrode and a metal pixel electrode on both surfaces of a light emitting layer and a driving circuit controlling the driving current of the light emission device. The driving circuit is formed on a substrate, and the light emission device is formed as a layer above the driving circuit with an intermediate layer of insulation material interposed therebetween. The metal pixel electrode device is connected with the driving circuit through a conduction portion which extends through the intermediate layer. Thus, light emitted from the light emission device can be prevented from reaching transistors by locating the transistors below the metal pixel electrode, and leakage current produced by the light of a transistor in the off state can be suppressed to prevent degradation of the image quality.

Active matrix type display

An organic LED (OLED) display device and an operating method of driving the same. In an OLED image display device, one switch transistor is provided in one pixel. For at least a part of an OFF period of time of the switch transistor, the OLED is in the non-light emission state, and also the bias of the polarity reverse to that in the light emission is applied to the OLED.

Organic light emitting diode display and operating method of driving the same

An emissive display having pixels delimited by a plurality of scan lines and a plurality of signal lines intersecting with each other. Each pixel includes a memory circuit having at least a first inverter circuit including an electroluminescent device and including a display control circuit connecting in series a main circuit of at least one first transistor. The memory circuit stores display information of the pixel according to a conduction state or a non-conduction state of the main circuit of the first inverter, and controls an on state and an off state of the electroluminescent device.

Emissive display using organic electroluminescent devices

An image display apparatus includes a plurality of scanning wires in an image display region for transmitting a scanning signal, a plurality of signal wires intersecting the plurality of scanning wires in the image display region for transmitting a signal voltage, a plurality of current driven electroooptical display elements each arranged in a pixel region surrounded by the wires connected to a common power supply, a plurality of driving elements in the pixel region connected with the electro-optical display elements and a plurality of memory control circuits for holding the signal voltage in response to the scanning signal to control driving of the driving elements based on the held signal voltage. The memory control circuit samples and holds the signal voltage while blocking a bias voltage from being applied to the driving elements, and subsequently applies the driving elements with the held signal voltage as the bias voltage.

Image display apparatus

This display module performs a high quality display by preventing the effect resulting from a residual charge of a data signal in the previous scanning remaining in a capacitor of a pixel circuit. The display module is provided with the pixel circuit having an active element that selects a pixel by a horizontal scanning signal supplied from a scanning line GL every intersection unit of multiple scanning lines GLs arranged in a matrix within a display region AR on a substrate SUB, a data holding element that holds a data signal supplied from the data line by the turn-on of this active element, and an organic light emitting diode OLED that emits light by the current supplied from a current supply line CSL in accordance with the data signal held in the data holding element, and a reset circuit RST that recovers at least either a capacitor CPR or a data line DL of the pixel circuit to an initial condition is provided before data for the pixel that corresponds to the next scanning line is sent to the data line after the scanning of the scanning line before one is finished.

An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display module is provided wherein the aperture ratio of the respective pixels thereof improves and such display faults as line defect is prevented so as to allow image to be displayed with high quality. The display module is provided with a capacitor, a first terminal of which is connected to an output terminal of the first transistor as selected by the scanning line and a second terminal of which is connected to the gate placed anterior thereto, wherein the electric current is supplied to an organic emitting device in response to the data signal as supplied from the data line through the second transistor, which turns into on-state condition when the first transistor is put into an off-state condition, and as stored in the capacitor.

The pixels of a top emission display include a light emission device having a transparent pixel electrode and a metal pixel electrode on both surfaces of a light emitting layer and a driving circuit controlling the driving current of the light emission device. The driving circuit is formed on a substrate, and the light emission device is formed as a layer above the driving circuit with an intermediate layer of insulation material interposed therebetween. The transparent pixel electrode is situated opposite to the substrate. The metal pixel electrode device is connected with the driving circuit through a conduction portion which extends through the intermediate layer. Thus, light emitted from the light emission device can be prevented from reaching transistors by locating the transistors below the metal pixel electrode, and leakage current produced by the light of a transistor in the off state can be suppressed to prevent degradation of the image quality.

An image display apparatus includes a display having data holding function, a vertical drive circuit sequentially and selectively scanning matrix form display elements, and a horizontal drive circuit writing a voltage among binary voltage preliminarily assigned depending upon the digital data of the image signal. The horizontal drive circuit and the vertical drive circuit are operated for performing selective scan of respective display element for at least m times in one frame period. The vertical drive circuit is constituted of n number of sequence circuits and logic operation circuits for outputs of the sequence circuits, where n is smaller than m, a period from inputting to the sequence circuit to outputting from the final stage being less than or equal to half of one frame period, and at least one of the sequence circuits being used with selectively inputting a plurality of inputs.
