A water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic, has good stability and does not cause a decrease in viscosity when a large quantity of fragrance material is blended. The water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic, includes: (a) 5 to 15% by mass of a fragrance material, (b) 1.5 to 3% by mass of dimethyldistearylammonium hectorite, and, (c) a nonionic surfactant, wherein, the (c) nonionic surfactant comprises (c1) 2 to 10% by mass relative to the total weight of the composition of a polyether modified silicone having a C12-22 branched hydrocarbon chain, and may comprise (c2) 10% by mass or less relative to the total weight of the composition of a polyether modified silicone having no alkyl chain, wherein, a ratio of the total blending quantity of the component (c1) and the component (c2) relative to a blending quantity of the component (b) is 2 or more, a ratio of the total blending quantity of the component (c1) and the component (c2) to a blending quantity of the component (a) is 0.8 or more, the total blending quantity of the component (c1) and the component (c2) is 4% by mass or more, a ratio of a blending quantity of the component (c1) to that of the component (c2) is 0.8 or more, and the composition has a hardness of 6 or more as measured using a rheometer.

Disclosed is a water-in-oil-type skin-whitening cosmetic, which has a moist feel without stickiness when used and has good emulsion stability over time even when accommodated in a glass container or a metal container. Provided is an oil-in-water emulsion composition which, while having a fresh feel without stickiness when used, has a skin unevenness correction effect and persistence thereof, and provides excellent smoothness, moisture and shininess, and feeling of tension. The oil-in-water emulsion composition is characterized by containing, in a specific ratio: (A) a non-emulsifying cross-linked polymethyl siloxane, which contains (a1) a dimethicone crosspolymer and (a2) a non-emulsifying cross-linked polymethyl siloxane other than a dimethicone crosspolymer; (B) an associative thickener; (C) a polyether-modified silicone; (D) a silicone oil; and (E) water in a specific ratio. The oil-in-water emulsion composition is further characterized in that the mass ratio ((a2)/(a1)) of (a2) the non-emulsifying cross-linked polymethyl siloxane other than a dimethicone crosspolymer to (a1) the dimethicone crosspolymer falls within a range of 0.1 to 2.5.

Disclosed is an emulsified cosmetic which is not sticky, has a long-lasting moisturizing effect, and can realize an excellent shiny sensation after application. Specifically disclosed is an emulsified cosmetic characterized by comprising (A) 0.1 to 15% by mass of a plate-like powder, (B) 0.1 to 30% by mass of an oil having an IOB value of 0.1 to 0.5, (C) 0.01 to 5% by mass of a pulverized agar gel, and (D) 1 to 20% by mass of a moisturizing agent. The plate-like powder preferably has an average particle diameter of 1 to 20 &#x3bc;m. The pulverized agar gel is one obtained by dissolving agar in water or an aqueous solvent, then allowing the agar solution to cool and solidify to form a gel, and pulverizing the gel.

A skin cosmetic in which the emulsion stability can be ensured by adding a volatile hydrocarbon oil to a water-in-oil-type emulsion composition containing a non-volatile silicone oil, and which has an excellent non-oily sensation upon application. An oil-in-water emulsified milky skin cosmetic preparation comprising (a) a copolymer of 2-acrylamide 2-methylpropanesulfonic acid or a salt thereof/polyoxyethylene alkyl ether methacrylate, (b) an alkyl modified carboxyvinyl polymer; and (c) an alkylene oxide derivative, and having a viscosity at 25&#xb0; C. of 10,000 mPa&#xb7;s or less (Vismetron viscometer).
