An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a post-processing device. The image forming apparatus includes a scanner reading image data from a sheet, an image forming part forming an image on the sheet, and a sheet ejecting part ejecting the sheet after forming the image. The post-processing device includes a post-processing conveying path, and a stapling part. The post-processing conveying path introduces the sheet from the sheet ejecting part and conveys the sheet. The stapling part collects sheets conveyed on the post-processing conveying path for each predetermined number of sheets and executes staple processing to the sheets. The image forming apparatus or the post-processing device includes a size deciding part deciding a sheet size based on the image data. The post-processing device includes a staple controlling part determining a binding position for the staple processing on the basis of the sheet size.

Post-processing device and image forming system

Provided is an image processing apparatus to form an image on a sheet of paper, including a main body and a submodule detachably disposed on the main body. The main body includes an asynchronous serial bus and a master control unit. The submodule includes a slave control unit. An interactive asynchronous serial communication is performed between the master control unit and slave control unit. The master control unit includes a detection timing changing unit. The detection timing changing unit changes a scheduled timing to detect a second signal. The slave control unit includes a transmission signal changing unit. The transmission signal changing unit changes a state of the second signal from a first state detectable by the master control unit at a first timing to a second state detectable by the master control unit at a second timing.

Image forming device for controlling attached submodule in master-slave mode

An image forming apparatus includes: a transporter for transporting a sheet; an image forming section for forming an image on the sheet being transported by the transporter with an ink; a liquid absorbent member; a cleaning liquid feeding section for feeding a cleaning liquid to the transporter via the liquid absorbent member to clean the transporter adhered with ink residues; and a cleaning liquid feeding controlling section for controlling the cleaning liquid feeding section to perform the cleaning liquid feeding operation, based on a condition of the image forming apparatus relating to evaporation of the cleaning liquid. This arrangement enables to properly clean a transport belt in an inkjet image forming apparatus, while preventing waste of the cleaning liquid and securing stable driving of the transport belt.

An inkjet recording apparatus which discharges ink onto a recording medium to form an image, the inkjet recording apparatus including: a recording head having a nozzle for discharging ink; a conveying belt for supporting a recording medium and conveying the recording medium to a position facing the nozzle; a cleaning roller for cleaning the conveying belt; a cleaning liquid storage section for storing cleaning liquid to be applied to the cleaning roller; a contamination detector for detecting a density of contamination of the cleaning liquid stored in the cleaning liquid storage section; a liquid supplying section for controlling supply of cleaning liquid to the cleaning liquid storage section in accordance with a density of contamination detected by the contamination detector; and a liquid draining section for draining at least a part of the cleaning liquid from the cleaning liquid storage section.
