An organic EL display device includes the following: scanning line; data lines intersecting with the scanning lines; initialization lines; sub-pixel circuits provided to correspond to points of intersection between the scanning lines and data lines; and organic EL elements OLED provided to correspond to the sub-pixel circuits. The scanning signal lines, the data signal lines, the initialization power-source lines, the sub-pixel circuits and the light emitters are arranged in matrix in a display region. Each of the sub-pixel circuits includes the following: a drive transistor; a write transistor connecting a corresponding one of the data lines and the drive transistor together; a capacitor connected to the drive transistor and retaining a data signal; and a diode-connection transistor and an initialization transistor both connected between the drive transistor and a corresponding one of the initialization lines.

A display device provided with a light-emitting element layer in which a plurality of light-emitting elements each including a first electrode, a function layer, and a second electrode are formed. An auxiliary electrode is provided on a lower side of an edge cover film covering an edge of the first electrode, a function layer includes a common function layer common to the plurality of light-emitting elements and individual function layers, each of which corresponding to each of the plurality of light-emitting elements, the common function layer includes an upper common function layer provided between the light-emitting layers included in the individual function layers, respectively, and the second electrode, and a film thickness of the auxiliary electrode is greater than a film thickness of the upper common function layer.

Display device for simplifying a process of forming a commin function layer

A display device includes: in a display region, a first scanning control line, a light emission control line, a data signal line, a pixel circuit provided at an intersection of the first scanning control line and the data signal line, and a light-emitting element provided for each of the pixel circuits; and in a non-display region, a first scanning control circuit and a light emission control circuit, wherein each of the pixel circuits includes a drive transistor, a write transistor, and a capacitor, the drive transistor including a first control terminal and a second control terminal positioned above and below a semiconductor layer, the light emission control circuit outputs, to the light emission control line, a light emission control signal that switches between a select state in which the drive transistor is turned on and a non-select state in which the drive transistor is turned off.

A display device includes, in a display area: scan control lines and data signal lines intersecting with each other; subpixels each including a subpixel circuit provided at an intersection of the scan control lines and the data signal lines; and light-emitting elements, one for each of the subpixels. The subpixel circuit includes a drive transistor, a write transistor, and a capacitor that retains a data signal. The write transistor includes a conduction terminal connected to an associated one of the data signal lines, another conduction terminal connected to a first gate terminal of the drive transistor, and a control terminal connected to an associated one of the scan control lines. A pixel circuit includes an organic EL element configured to emit light, a capacitor configured to hold a data voltage, a drive transistor with a data gate connected to one electrode of the capacitor, and a diode connection transistor connected between a source of the drive transistor and the organic EL element. A source of the diode connection transistor is connected to a back gate of the drive transistor. In a case where a channel length of the drive transistor is taken as L, a channel length of the diode connection transistor is taken as L, a ratio of a channel width to a channel length of the drive transistor is taken as (W/L), and a ratio of a channel width to a channel length of the diode connection transistor is taken as (W/L), a relation of L<Land a relation of (W/L)<(W/L)are satisfied.

Display device equipped with current-driven electro-optical elements

With respect to a display device having an external compensation function, a monitor time can be shortened without increasing the number of wiring lines. A pixel circuit in an i-th row and a j-th column includes an organic EL element (display element), a writing control transistor, a drive transistor, a monitor control transistor, and a holding capacitor. A control terminal of the drive transistor is connected to a data signal line S(j) in the j-th column via the write control transistor. The monitor control transistor includes a first conduction terminal connected to a second conduction terminal of the drive transistor, and a second conduction terminal connected to a data signal line S(j+1) in a (j+1)-th column.

A technique is provided that reduces dullness of a potential provided to a line such as gate line on an active-matrix substrate to enable driving the line at high speed and, at the same time, reduces the size of the picture frame region. On an active-matrix substrate () are provided gate lines (G) and source lines. On the active-matrix substrate () are further provided: gate drivers () each including a plurality of switching elements, at least one of which is located in a pixel region, for supplying a scan signal to a gate line (G); and lines (L) each for supplying a control signal to the associated gate driver (). Provided is an active matrix substrate that includes gate lines (G), source lines, pixel switching elements, a plurality of gate line driving circuits () that control potentials of the gate lines, in the display region, and control signal lines (L) that supply a control signal to the gate line driving circuits (). Each of the gate line driving circuits () includes driving switching elements and a capacitor. At least part of the driving switching elements and the capacitor are arranged at positions closer to, not the gate line (G) corresponding to the gate line driving circuit (), but another gate line (G).
