An optical disc apparatus includes: a chassis; an optical pickup that is movably disposed on the chassis; a flexible member including wiring, which extends out from the optical pickup; and a wall portion that is provided in a standing manner at one end portion of the chassis. In the optical disc apparatus, an opening that allows the flexible member to be disposed in a bent state is formed through the chassis, and a first cutout is formed at the wall portion so as to be continuous with the opening.

A chassis is comprised of a resin material. A main shaft is attached to the chassis and extends in a first direction. A sheet metal frame is attached to the chassis and has an edge rail portion which extends in the first direction. The main shaft and the edge rail portion are adapted to guide the optical pickup in the first direction.

A first groove, a second groove, and a prepared hole are formed in a traverse chassis. The first groove restricts the downward movement of a printed circuit board as a lower edge portion of the board is slidably pinched in the first groove. The second groove restricts the sliding movement in one direction of the board as an edge portion on one side of both lateral sides of the board whose lower edge portion is nipped in the first groove is fitted in the second groove. The prepared hole vertically penetrates a portion of the traverse chassis defining the first groove and is disposed adjacent to an edge portion on another side of the both lateral sides of the board whose edge portion on the one side is fitted in the second groove.

Structure for attaching printed circuit board on traverse chassis

In an optical head according to the present invention, an act base on which an objective lens is arranged is formed in a rectangular shape with through holes formed in four corners thereof. A base on which a collimating lens is arranged has projections to engage with the through holes in correspondence with the through holes when the act base is arranged. With the through holes of the act base engaged with the projections of the base, an adhesive is injected to the through holes to thereby fix the act base to the base. This improves the accuracy in bonding between the base and the act base, and permits laser light of a more stable intensity accordingly to be irradiated to the optical disc, thus permitting suppressing failure involved in data recording or reading.

There are provided a disc tray, a traverse unit, and a main chassis unit. The main chassis unit has a main chassis, which has, as observed when the traverse unit is in a stand-by position, a latch portion that engages with a projection portion of a sub rack and a stopper member that restricts the movement of the cam slider. The stopper member has a rotary shaft in the shape of a circular column, a lever portion which the projection portion makes contact, and a lock portion that makes contact with the cam slider and thereby restricts the sliding movement of the cam slider.

A fixing structure fixes the position of a spindle motor against a traverse chassis in the direction of the movement of an optical pickup (first direction), and can be adjusted in the direction perpendicular thereto (second direction). In the bottom surface of the spindle motor: an elongated reference hole, the longest dimension of which extends in the radial direction, centered on a main shaft; and three screw holes circumferentially spaced, centered on the main shaft. A traverse chassis includes a protrusion engaged within the reference hole; and elongated through holes elongated in the second direction at positions corresponding to those of the screw holes. The cross-sectional width A of the protrusion in the first direction is approximately the same as the width of the reference hole, while the cross-sectional width B in the second direction is smaller than the cross-sectional width A in the first direction.

Optical disk recording/reproducing apparatus

A flexible printed board mounting structure includes a main body that has an attachment portion on its rear side surface, and a flexible printed board that is attached to the rear side surface and the attachment portion of the main body. The surface of the attachment portion is substantially perpendicular to the rear side surface. The flexible printed board includes a first area that is at least partially attached to the rear side surface of the main body, an attachment area to which a light-receiving IC is attached, the attachment area being attached to the attachment portion of the main body, and a connecting portion that is unitarily formed with the first area and the attachment area and connects the first area and the attachment area in a deflective manner. The position of the light-receiving IC can be easily adjusted relative to the attachment portion of the main body.

Flexible printed board mounting structure and optical pick up having the same

An optical pickup has a base having a screw hole, a holder attached to the base, a laser diode held by the holder, a leaf spring, and an adjusting screw. The holder is formed of a substantially rectangular metal plate having short and long sides and is formed with a laser hole for fitting the laser diode through a center thereof. An angular fulcrum is formed at the center of a back surface of the holder along a direction parallel to the short side. The fulcrum is brought into abutment with the base via the leaf spring and one end of the holder is urged toward the base by the leaf spring. The holder is temporarily secured to the base by screwing the adjusting screw through an insertion hole formed at the other end of the holder into the screw hole of the base.

A rotary tray having a plurality of disk mounting sections is pivotally supported by a central shaft arranged on a tray support face of a casing, a rim protruding from a lower face of the rotary tray is movably set on a sliding face block arranged in an outer circumferential section of the tray support face, and disk mounted on a desired disk mounting section is opposed to an optical pickup when the rotary tray is intermittently rotated by a predetermined angle, and the sliding face block is engaged in a space formed between a recess step circumferential face, which is formed along an inner edge of an outer circumferential section of the tray support face, and a support frame integrally formed in the outer circumferential section and being opposed to the recess step circumferential face.
